Hopefully There are more moves to be learned on static than spin so that I will get my money worth.

I understand this is a popular dvd. I’m hoping there are some advance polers on here who no longer have any need for the beginning/intermedite portion of this series. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

I just ordered the Kendra xpole and was feeling EXTREME buyers remorse because it doesn’t have the spin. To know that Veena still gets sick makes me feel so much better. Not that your sick Venna of course https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif but lets me know that I can still pole without spin mode and be fulfilled. I never like spin things like the one they used to have at the park as a kid or any spinning amusement park ride as I always get dizzy and sick so maybe spin mode wouldn’t be for me anyway. I guess I’ll try it out on my friends pole and if I like it I can purchase another pole later down the road. Now, I feel a lil more content with my purchase and I’m excited again. I just like how the moves look on spin mode its so pretty. Will I still be able to do nice spins on a static pole?? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif

Really? I thought 50mm was the standard. I just wanted 45mm because i heard it was easier and I have no ambition to ever compete. I just hope I can climb easily on the 45mm as my ceiling is fairly high (over 10 1/2) and I plan on climbing every bit of it. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

I just want to thank you guys for all your help. I finally ordered my pole today. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif I went with the Kendra pole as it fit almost all my needs (minus the spin). It has the smaller top dome which will fit in my vault and is bottom loading for ease of set up with out having to get on a ladder everyday. I was going to go with 45mm so that isn’t a problem. All that considered, I’m feeling a bit of buyers remorse right now, but I’m sure that will go away once the pole comes. I really wanted the spin but reasoned with myself, that I get dizzy really easy and hate spinning mechanism so it’s probably best. I was going to get the PS extreme but it would have cost over $400 and I just couldn’t rationalize paying that much for a pole after only taking one pole class and with xmas around the corner. I decided that if I absolutely MUST get a spin I will do that later after I have perfected the art of pole.
Off to stalk the thread for moves I can practice as I impatiently await the arrival of my pole. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_bounce.gif

yes, i was looking at the extreme multi piece removable pole. I did check craigslist and I didn’t see anything for my area. I guess i would want multipiece as i want it to be portable. Maybe I’m asking for too much. I dunno. I never knew it would be so complicated. Thank you all for your input and suggestions, I really appreciate it! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

LOL. That is so funny. My dilema continues. There was good news and bad neI finally got a ladder and there is a joist in the flat part of my vaulted ceiling BUT its only 11" wide. Therefore, the xpole is out of the question. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_surprised.gif( And I really wanted an xpole. So i went to platium stages and called them and they said their dome top is 10" wide great unfortunately they are more expensive. And I wanted to get the 45mm and they don’t have it in stock yet, won’t be for a couple of Weeks. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_eek.gif Are you serious, who can wait that long. I need this pole like yesterday. They I also hear they’re poles are not as sticky as xpole so, i have a more slippery bigger pole to learn on and I’m just a beginner. This is pure torture. WHY!. I don’t know what to do but I need to make an executive decision TODAY! I was thinking about the Kendra pole because the top dome is smaller but it doesn’t spin and it has that cut out thingy on the bottom. WHY does this have to be so complicated. WHat should I do???

Two more questions, I promise…well for now anyway. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif How long does it take to put an xpole together once you get over the learning curve? Also, should i get a 45mm since i’m a beginner as I hear its easier to learn on. Also, I see that some of the girls who have 50 mm poles are going to 45mm, is that the reason?

I was mainly wondering about the pole because it doesn’t have the large dome top and it can adjust from the bottom. I will have to take my pole down everyday and have high ceilings and I was thinking this may make it easier as I hear that the x pole is top loading. Given those circumstances do you think that would be the better route to go?

Thanks for the replies. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif You guys are the best. I guess I can’t order my pole today now that I have to borrow a ladder from someone to make sure there is a joist in my ceiling. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif This really sucks. I don’t really want a stationary pole because my room is built different were there is a low ceiling in one part of my room then it opens up to a vaulted ceiling. I was thinking i can mount the pole to the lower ceiling when in the beginning to practice the basic moves then move to the heigher ceiling when i want to start the climbs and inverts. It sucks that I have to take it down everyday because my room is huge, its actually larger than my family room and provides plenty of dance space.
Maybe I can get the xpole and leave the pole together connected like Veena suggested and just connect the ceiling part everyday. How long will it take me to put together if I went that route? Why does this have to be so complicated I’m ready to order NOW!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cry.gif

Thanks for responding!! Is the lil minx of the same quality as xpole? Also, does that mean i’ll have to drill holes in my ceiling and it won’t technically be portable any more? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif
