GET A FOAM ROLLER, You will NOT regret it. Its the best thing ever, and it always helps my muscles loosen up for deep stretching. Once you use it on a regular basis, you will know what areas you need to roll out more. They really help. I bought mine from walmart and they sell them at target. Or you can order hundreds of different ones online 😉

Do a 24 hour cancellation policy. If they do not cancel within 24 hours, they are charged for the entire class- have a card on file at all times.

Oh and I forgot to add- Friday (today) are chat days. That is the whole studios jam day and a good time to answer questions live. There is a web cam and Veena pops in every Friday 😉 everything a regular studio has just through a computer screen

In my case, my local studio is not worth a damn. Sorry to be so blunt, but the girls are not trained and educated to teach pole dance safely. My local studio is great for pole jams and interaction with other polers.
I haven’t been since June. I’ve had Veena’s lessons since 2011 with a break in between here and here.
She is always adding and will ALWAYS answer questions and provide feedback on videos here.

Hence the name, StudioVeena.com, a virtual studio.
Once you use this forum more, you will notice that you will make great connections with everyone here. I’ve just started doing Skype jams with members and its so helpful. It’s just like having them in the room with you, or the closest you’ll get to it anyway.

If I had access to one of the many wonderful studios in this country, or the world for that matter, I would utilize it too. But I happen to not be in a area that does. So Studio Veena it is, and Im perfectly fine with that 🙂

I was waiting for this topic to pop up eventually.

    Cons:

-Pole and Aerial pole lessons are very unorganized! I cancelled my membership.

-On the costly side (over double compared to Veena)

-No one posts videos for feedback, but you have the option to post

-Forums, blog, and statuses are not really happening on their end

-Not a good place for beginners to learn pole from home (this is MY opinion)

    Pros

-Like StudioVeena lessons, the video backgrounds are clean

-It was nice to watch videos from multiple 'pole stars' and to learn a little about lyra and silks the to see different teaching styles

-Each instructor has their own warm up and flexibility routine to follow

I guess this is relavant: I am really weak when my period is nearing. I don't know if you still have a menstrual cycle, but being 30 its more than likely you do.

I try to focus more on the dancing aspect when I feel really weak. Its discouraging, I know. But we will always have our good a bad days. =)

I like to roll my shoulders and loosen up my body by holding a squat and circling hips. I do jumping jacks in between and just prance around my pole room and living room. Sometimes I get my two dogs excited and jump around with them. Lol!
Thats just what I do. Body rolls are in every single warm up of mine too.

Yah Brass stinks. Not gonna lie there.. I sweat A LOT so I need brass.
I just take a shower after my pole session- which I would do after any form of exercise. Its not that bad unless force yourself to smell your hands during your session

I just made 6 years with mine. He proposed to be 3 weeks ago.
When I tell you it has not been easy. Its been a lot of hard work and compromise.
Do not apologize for posting this- I wish I would have had a safe haven like Veena.com when I was going through my relationship issues.
The first year of our relationship was hell. I dont even know how we continued. He ignored me all the time, and he was seeing other people. He says he didnt have sex with any of them.
He also threw his past in my face a lot in the beginning. Almost bragging about it.
I still battle with it… Im not gonna lie. We have done a lot soul searching together and it wasnt until the last 3 years that its become almost 100% better.
He realized the impact his immature comments had on me.
I guess the good thing about it all is he did not officially apologize until HE realized the damage it did… Thats how I know he meant what he said.
He is never one to say sorry if he doesnt truly mean it.
The point Im trying to make here, past issues will eat you alive if you allow it….
Its the worst feeling ever. It still impacts me today. I have to consciously tell myself when thoughts pop in my head, to move on and be thankful for the relationship we have built and have now…

Maybe you guys need to dwell further into past issues and resolve them more. Its hard for me to say since i dont know the both of you…
If one of you still feel that you havent resolved the issues, it snowballs into giving up..
Even relationships that seem like the most perfect of all, have issues…
I dont think its easy for anyone.

As for male friends, I can understand why you like male friends over female friends. I feel the same way.
But I do not have male friends on my own that arent friend with my man.
He wouldnt appreciate it and I sure wouldnt appreciate if he had female friends.
Not saying this is your case.

I hope i could help, or at least express that I empathize with you.
