scarlethoney – You're right. I was focusing on the bigger, more global influences in pole for this part. In the previous section, I touched upon the fact that a lot happens on a more local level but I think I'll expand that a little more.

I have a page limit unfortunately so I won't be able to mention everything & everyone but I'm definitely doing my utmost to give credit where it is due. I hope the end result will please all of you, especially  since you've been so willing to help and add to my research. Which I'm also mentioning because I also talk about how sites like studioveena and youtube for instance have helped unite polers from all over.

Before I'm done, I'll post an index so you guys can see what it looks like and deals with. When my professor approves it, I'll translate it into English.

My jaw just dropped. Those are some great suggestions!

I think I've gone from wondering where in the hell I'd find enough material for a thesis to having the luxury of cutting some things out 😀

    thanks!

Wow, you were busy on the other side of the world while I was sleeping 🙂

Thank you for the suggestions. I have a section on the beginnings of pole so I've already spoken about its origins as well  as Fawnia Mondey. I'm adding Jamilla to the second part though, the focus I have is more relevant I think.

Right now I'm focusing on current influential figures. I think I've got a good list going now with some of your suggestions, (of course if I've missed others, please let me know) so I can accurately portray the current evolution of pole.

I appreciate your help tons 🙂

Thanks again fern! I think I'll add a section just for federations around the world. It will fit nicely with the rest.

I have Veena and the president of the International Federation on the list as well 🙂

But I hadn't thought of the USPDF and I didn't know about the Asian federation so that's good, thanks! 😀

    Hello 🙂

I have an update and a question regarding my thesis.

First off, I'm about halfway done and looking at being done by May. When that's done and I've handed it in to my teacher and she's approved it, I'll translate it and post it online. I'm loving the process but I'll be glad when it's done and over!

My question has to do with poling as it is nowadays. I've spoken about its origins, its beginnings etc, and now I'd like to talk about the current 'generation' of polers who have influenced the art. I've got a few names but I'd like you to let me know if there's anyone hugely significant that I've missed, if you don't mind 🙂

Obviously I have to include Felix Cane who's probably the biggest name in poling simply because she's crossed over into the 'mainstream' with Zumanity, Comicon etc.

Then there's Jenyne Butterfly as well who's done a ton of workshops for instance.

Then KT Coates who compiled a list of tricks and spins, created a teacher accreditation process, helped test and distribute Xpoles

Mariana Baum who's the French representative for the World Pole Dance Federation.

    Anyone else you'd add?

    Hi
    Sorry for the late reply,
Right now I’m compiling as much info as possible, in French and English –

And since I’m on summer vacation until October I’m also working on my own personal moves https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

    Hello again https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

Thank you so much for your links.
I just wanted to give you an update : I contacted xpole us who were kind enough to send over some very technical brochures which means I can go ahead with the thesis now!

I already have an idea of what I want to deal with but if you have any other facts, and ideas, let me know!

My teacher is currently writing a book but unfortunately it’s not published yet so I can’t use it but it promises to be really good.
