    Very true.

I was reading an article the other day similar to this topic but about weight loss progression photos on social media.. It showed two photos of the same girl at a 30 second interval.
She was just in two different poses. When her posture was firm, she looked leaner.

I used to get so easily discouraged but took a social media detox and it was the best decision. I felt like a weight just lifted off my shoulders.. Unfortunately hopped back on the social media bandwagon. I think I need to do another social media detox.

Oh nice.. Yeah Australia has them at various places.. Some have x trainers.. Would love to see an aerial specific one though.

I suppose you could hang a yoga hammock on those bars. And there’d be enough room to put an outdoor pole there.

There’s a playground in my street that I’ve been eyeing off for ages thats similar to that photo..

My old dance teacher is pretty amazing (miss Filly)
Amy Hazel is another one I really like. I love their lyrical pole dancing… They are very mesmerising to watch.

This Is a video of a compilation of the Pony challenge… It’s basically creating a little clip of you dancing to the song ‘pony’

  • Firebird, I know what you mean. The only times I really speak about pole is when someone asks what I do as a hobby or if someone asks how my pole dancing is going.

I used to get defensive when someone made judgments but I think it’s really up to you whether or not you let it affect you…

The people that I’m close to know that I do it and they haven’t said one bad word about it, just encouraging .. I think that’s really all that matters, Because everyone in this world has their opinions… My partner and I, for example, have many opposing opinions, but we agree to disagree.

Hey there, I know the feeling!. I’ve lost motivation to lately. And most of the time its due Pms (last month I had it bad)… The hardest part is starting again. I notice I cash regain my motivation after talking myself into doing at least one type exercise, even if it’s doing 1 set of 12 squats.

Because sometimes I tell myself that I have to complete a hard core workout for the day, it puts me off and stops me from doing any exercise at all… Another motivator for me is putting some music on and don’t some house cleaning (the music helps with moving your body to rhythm).

    Hope this helps.

As Tara Lee pointed, that behaviour says more about them than it does about you.

You are very brave to post videos on social outlets. It sucks that these trolls hidden behind a computer screen can affect us this much.

Their view is definately not of value. As someone mentioned, studio Veena is a much more safer environment. For some reason, people are much more opinionated on social media and they are not afraid to speak their minds.

Unfortunately people have forgotten the good old saying of ‘if you’ve got nothing nice to say, don’t say it at all’

I hope you feel better about yourself.

  • It sounds like your partner believes that this is OK even though you stated that you are not comfortable with this situation.

As Veena said, communication is important, that includes listening to each other and letting each other have a say.

I’m so sorry that you are having to go through this as it can be soul destroying.

Unfortunately, you just telling him that he shouldn’t be doing something will most likely end in him resenting you.

You don’t have to try to be cool about him going to a strip club because jealousy is completely normal.

If you do try to discuss your concerns with him, write everything down before your discussion and think of ways you can put it across to him without sounding like you are attacking him (I know it’s easier said than done).

As for pole dancing, learn to do it for yourself 🙂

I hope this helps and good luck with everything.

I also just started the 30 day program. After each session, I usually watch the videos for the next day and write down notes of what I need to do the next day.

I’ve only been sticking to the 30 day take off so I don’t get so overwhelmed with other exercises.

Everything you need is in the 30 day take off.

I used to be able to do the pole hold with ease, but now I struggle with it.

I try to stay focused on what I’m doing for that day, otherwise I tend lose patience and give up when I become eager to learn more than what I can.

Will definately be starting the 30 day take off program.

I also had a look at some of your hula hoop videos and look forward to trying it out.

    Hi Veena.

Nope that wasn’t me but would love to know the advice…

I don’t have any pole friends at my level. I have one that is advanced but I feel like it would help if I had someone to encourage me and work on tricks with.

I’ve only just purchased the Veena lessons after being a member for a few years, so I’m trying to Pre plan my lessons at home instead of just turning music on without a plan. (ends up with me just dancing around the pole instead of improving my form.)

I work about 40 hours a week where I’m on my feet all day so it’s tempting to just sit on the couch and relax after each shift.

Does anyone have preferences of what camera they use to record their progress and how to get it to sit at the right angle?

I sometimes just use my phone but it takes up all my memory and because I play music on my phone, the music stops playing when I record.

(sorry for the paragraphs, just got a lot to write)

Sorry, forgot to add that. It’s in Australia. I’m selling for $50 as I haven’t used them much.

Its apparently meant to be good to exercise during this time of the month, but I can never be bothered plus I get bad cramping… Any movement for me during this time is so so exhausting. Even little things like shopping.

I usually cave in and take a nap Or hug my hot water bottle and relax if I can. Perhaps schedule around it. For example, 5 days out of the month can be a resting period…. Or the first day of your period is a must resting day. If you plan around it, you won’t feel as bad about not having done anything.

Thanks for your replies guys. Very true :). I’m going to find someone who can adopt my pole for now and will try to focus on floorwork and improving my flexibility.
