FYI ladies quite a few of the workshops are already sold out, so if want to sign up for any workshops, I’d do it soon because they are selling out quite quickly!

My suggestion is to go through the beginner lessons & start from the last trick & spin you know in the beginner lessons & work forward from there. Even if you know some interm moves, still start at the end of the beginner lessons & move forward. I definitely don’t recommend skipping around, follow the moves in order as Veena has laid out in the lessons because each move you learn is prep for a later move & you build strength as you move through the lessons as laid out.

Several. Extended butterfly, Ayesha(All grip styles), Pencil, Bow & Arrow & Hand & Elbowstands. Pretty much any move where my feet or legs have to come completely off the pole & am completely dependent on my arm/hand strength to execute the move. I like the look of the inverted thigh hold & recently got it but it still scares me to execute & I still struggle with it a lil now & then. I even fell out of it recently (first fall in pole), which scared the bejesus out of me.
My husband spots me sometimes but I still feel scared. Plus, I feel like I’m not always going to have a spotter there, so I need to get it confidently on my own without a spotter.
For me, time is usually a factor, in other words, eventually I work/push through the fear when I hit a pole dead end ie: I can’t progress further to other moves unless I learn the move. However, if its a move that I can put on the back burner for awhile until I am ready to work on it, then I do lol I also think having a crash mat will help & I plan on getting one soon.

You may be a pole dancer if….
You always keep a pair of pole shorts, tank top, thong underwear, & sports bra in your car because you never know when a pole jam is going to pop off.
You’re in Zumba, Pilates, or yoga & you look at certain girls in class who have great lines, form, flexibility &/or sassiness & you think she would be an awesome poler, maybe I should talk to her.
When you & your husband see an empty space in a shopping center near your home, you both look at each other & HE says that might make a great pole studio babe.
When your husband suggests you should talk to your Zumba studio about teaching pole there after you get your pole & PT certification. I say yeah I’ve fantasized about that but the ceilings wouldn’t work. And his response: There are ways around that or you could use stand alones lol

You have spent the last few days trying to figure out where to find & what containers you can use small enough to carry rubbing alcohol, & some kind of small foldable rag in your smallish going out purse, just in case you run into a poling opportunity while you are out.

Age is definitely not a factor in pole! I’m one of the “older” ladies on SV–I’m 41 & sure my learning curve is a tad slower than some of the younger ladies & my stamina isn’t what it used to be in my 20s & my body has zero flexibility & my muscle aches & pains take longer to go away. But you know what? Poling is worth it! It has been the most incredible journey & has changed me & my life in ways I never imagined 🙂
Welcome to the obsession!

I have a bad left knee from a track & field injury in high school & it flares up & hurts when I overuse it & I end up having to let it rest & not exercise for a few days until it feels better. I do notice that it seems to flare up less if i stretch properly before all & any exercise & that sometimes wrapping it keeps me from pushing it too far.

Yes I do know all too well…my husband and I have spoken up several times and even confronted them face to face and yet everyone comes running to defend them and to say we are out of line REALLY?!? We are consistently seen as the bad guys in the family because we call them out every time, but his whole family insists on defending these bad apples who are doing real damage to the family with their behavior over and over. It's gotten to the point where we don't spend as much time around or with his family anymore because of these bad apples, it makes me sad because we used to be with my husbands family ALL THE TIME but now it's not worth all the bs that comes with it. Sorry I sorta vented there too. Didn't mean to highjack your thread. xxoo

Super normal. With time you will come to love the bruises & soreness they are pole war badges of honor lol I take pics of mine! Soak in the tub with epsom salts, take Advil or Naproxen and use a massage wand for the soreness after you soak in the tub. You can use Arnica gel on the bruises as well.
I've found that since I started taking extra iron I bruise alot less 🙁 I miss my bruises!

Yes I definitely know what you mean! I ran into this in my workplace constantly and there are a couple of bad apples like this in my huuby's family and it pisses me off to no end! Everyone makes excuses for them and everytime they do something terrible everyone just turns the other cheek and says it is what it is/thats just how they are there's nothing that can be done. It's like are you guys AFRAID of them is that what this is?!? It's so idiotic and VERY frustrating.

Good luck!

Poling makes your arms & shoulders bigger! And my chest cavity is definitely more pronounced

Welcome back! I wondered where you disappeared to! How are things? Did you get a new nursing position in WA? Is that why you moved? Look forward to seeing your progress vids again 🙂

I like this idea! If anyone is open to housing some of us for Las Vegas expo in Sept, please let us know!
Someone (i don’t remember who) also suggested renting a house or two close to the expo venue & everyone pitching in to save $$$.
