Heeelp.I love the energy in your dances but I understand what you mean about needing to change the pace for performances and competetions because it's a whole different ball game. I have a problem with moving in fast forward when I dance as well what has been helping me is to go a couple of beats slower than the beat in the music and/or when I do a move slowly counting to 4 (1 1000, 2 1000, 3 1000, 4 1000) before I switch to another move.

First place to start is tell everyone what you’re doing! Friends & family!
If you go to a gym talk to them about leaving your flyers out there. Word of mouth marketing is the easiest & best.
Offer 1 free trial lessons to friends & friends of friends to build interest.
Get a small table or booth at an bridal expo or women’s fair next time one is in town in the metropolitan city closest to you.
Call your local community college newspaper & see how much it costs to place an ad. Usually college paper advertising is reasonably priced. Place an ad there 1x a month or every cpl months.

I have a 50 mm chrome & have never been happy with it, so I plan on getting a 45 mm soon but will more than likely keep both the 45 & 50 up & learn moves on both. Why not keep your 50 & just get a 45? I think there is some great value as a poler in knowing how to pole on different diameters of poles.

Her express warm up is only 6 mins & gets u warmed up quick for poling. I have 2 kids, 5 & 8. I pole in afternoons when they are playing quietly in their room or sometimes in the evening when they are settling down for bed/going to bed. My kids are old enough that I can tell them I’m going to practice & they will entertain themselves for an hour. My husband will help too if they are particularly clingy when I am trying to practice. For you, I’d say pole when your daughter naps or get up an hour before her in the mornings or weekends. Or feed her, then put her in her swing or on her play mat while you pole, even 20-30 mins here & there a cpl times a day will work.

I totally forgot about the wrist sit/hello boys. I can’t stand that move. I can do it but i think it just looks terrible & it hurts my wrist more than SG!

MemberApril 8, 2013 at 7:01 pm in reply to: You shouldn’t go to strip clubs and heckle the strippersI just noticed when this first thread first posted opppsss still it's an intriguing thread to me, so I keep posting anyway lol. Also have to add that I have been to clubs where the girls ignore the female patrons more than once, I find it strange and when it happens it pisses me off. I mean I could see if a woman is there looking sour faced or angry like she was dragged there by her bf or husband, then I could understanda dancer keeping her distance but I always go in there with 1's ready and sit front & center eager to be entertained. When I was in Vegas a few months ago, I was at the tip rail stage and there were 3 dudes sitting there NOT tipping at all and here I was tipping (well I might add) and I sat there through about 10 girls and only 2 of the girls came near me. I know that I did not smell, I was dressed nice and looking approachable and friendly. Times like that at the club I don't understand what the problem is. I've asked my exotic dancer friends and they all have said that it's because women don't spend nearly the amount that men do. I always tell them you shouldn't judge all women based on one or two bad apples because I know I have blown more money than my male friends in strip clubs on more than 1 occassion(and know other women who have too) and couples can mean DOUBLE the $$$! 😉

MemberApril 8, 2013 at 3:23 pm in reply to: You shouldn’t go to strip clubs and heckle the strippers@sissybuns want to add that I HAVE been to strip clubs where I was bored and got pissed because the girls were more concerned with talking to one another/or fighting with one another or chewing gum while looking at the ceiling instead of paying attention to patrons while dancing on stage. I HAVE walked out of a club several times before and said wow that sucked. I tip well (but I do tip MORE to girls who do pole work) and I DO buy lap dances IF I feel I am being entertained, if not, then I don't get lap dances nor do I sit at the tip rail if I feel like the dancer(s) are ignoring or avoiding customers on stage.

MemberApril 8, 2013 at 3:08 pm in reply to: You shouldn’t go to strip clubs and heckle the strippersMy first exposure & obsession w/pole dance stemed from a strip club, it's never been a place that focused on pole tricks. Men are the bread and butter customers and all those guys care about is seeing T & A and getting lap dances. I have a different view and admiration of strippers & strip clubs due to the fact that I have several close friends who are exotic dancers/strippers and who feature dance across the country(I have traveled with them even), so I've spent ALOT of time in strip clubs lol.
Over the years, I have only run into a few clubs that have a few regular gals who are amazing on the pole and who consistently do pole tricks. There is only one strip club chain that no matter what city I'm in and I visit one of their clubs they seem to have a large number of their girls who regularily do advanced pole tricks and that's Deja Vu.
2001 Odyssey in Tampa, FL also has a large number of dancers that do pole work but nothing really over intermediate level.
Jumbos Clown room here in LA 99.8% of their girls do advanced and extreme pole work and it is some pretty sick #$!* poling.
At all the other strip club chains, you'll be lucky if out of the 25 girls working if 3-4 girls do any serious pole work but that's pretty much been the situation at strip clubs for as long as I can remember.
I always tip generously to any dancers who do pole work because I know how hard it is!

I second the Emergen-C and Zicam. It has kept me from catching my families colds and flu several times this cold & flu season. I took the Emergen-c 3x a day and did the Zicam spray 1-2x a day. Halo spray also is great–spray it in your mouth a few mins before going out and it protects you from airborne germs for up to 6 hours.

Yep, my husband has scolded me a few times when I have pushed myself too far poling and ended up so sore I could barely walk. We do sometimes need a little reminding that our bodies need a break and time to recoup 😉
