They exist. They are just back ordered on them. I’m waiting patiently too…I hope to buy a TG 45 mm in June.

I’ve been mostly doing static for the last 4 years because I hated how sick spin made me. But recently, I became interested in finally learning on spin, so I now take 1/4 less drowsy Dramamine + use motion ease–it’s a homeopathic motion sickness ointment that you rub behind your ears, & it’s helped me immensely…I can actually stomache an hour spin pole class all the way through!

I wish! I am all legs & not flexy on my legs at all!

I think there is value in learning on different diameter poles. Being able to pole on any diameter & finish is a pretty bad ass skill IMO.
Most studios I have attended have 45 mm & 40 mm, with 45 mm seeming to be the standard size & while I got my 50 mm 3 years ago & it worked well for me for awhile, I have found that now that I am advanced & training for split grips & twisted grip moves etc, a smaller diameter is a lot easier to get & hold a good secure grip.

What workshops do you want… Is fluidity important to you?I also love Tracee Kafer and the emotion, expression, and passion that she emotes when she dances on & off the pole, it’s so hypnotic & beautiful. You really feel the music through her dance

I’m dying to take liquid motion as well…I have even been trying to get my pole studio owner friends to book LM to do a workshop! I wish there were more floorwork flow & transition classes and/or workshops like this. I’ve noticed that there are more classes & workshops slowly emerging though, so I am happy about that. I’d love to eventually have Eva Bembo’s grace, sexiness, fluidity and flow on & off the pole. She is amazeballs.

Glad you found SV! Welcome! SV has the best pole lessons online. I too stumbled across SV about 4 years ago & never looked back. I still go to the studio from time to time but I still always consider SV my primary pole family.

Some people are ready quickly like only a few months into poling & for some it takes a little longer to feel like they are ready to give a performance or comp at try. Me, for instance, I am just starting to feel
the performance/showcase bug 4 years into my pole journey. When you’re ready believe me you’ll know 🙂 -
Me! I did gymnastics as a kid & sports until I was about 15 but I am not flexible AT ALL and have no formal dance training. I started pole at 38 & am now 42. My journey has definitely been a tad slower & different than some one with a background in dance, gymnastics or weight training but that’s what I love about pole anyone can do it doesn’t matter if you have an athletic background or not!

MemberApril 29, 2014 at 10:53 am in reply to: Preparation prior to ever getting on the polePreparation to start pole helps sure but is not really necessary. What makes pole great is that even those who have no exercise background, can do it because you build your strength as you learn pole. However, I’ve found that cardio helps with my stamina & endurance on the pole and if I don’t do cardio consistently (at least 2-3x a week), my stamina definitely suffers. I also do some light strength training at home: pull ups, push ups, planks, core exercises, pole drills, elbow/forearm stands but I am not diligent with it (which I am working in) but every little bit of effort helps.
But in all honesty, you really have to play around with different regimens to find out what works for YOU, everyone’s different & what works for one person might not work for you.

And pole has given me a major sexy confidence that I didn’t have in my 20s or 30s. Pole has aged me like a fine wine & I love it! And it keeps me in shape & looking young…people always think I’m in my mid to late 20s 🙂

MemberApril 18, 2014 at 5:20 pm in reply to: Are you over 40 and up a pole? Check in here 🙂I started pole at 38, I am now 42 & my journey started out slow but now it’s starting to take off! I plan on doing pole showcases later this year, am currently working on my pole teacher certifications & will work toward my group fitness & health coach certs in 2015 🙂
The difference I have noticed in myself being an “older” poler is…soreness & pain lingers longer from practices, my flexibility is atrocious–splits haha fat chance & back bends are now on my NO LIST due to always ending up with back issues after I work on back bends & back flexibility. Also fear…I am a very scaredy cat poler and the older I get the worse my fear gets it seems, so it takes me a little longer to get/nail moves that I don’t feel safe or comfortable with. But! I love pole & have finally come to terms with the fact that my journey is my own & to just enjoy MY journey for the unique journey that it is. I listen to my body & heart when I pole & I am conscious of my limitations & embrace them…they are what make me, well me & I’m fine with that.
I do wish too like the others that I had started sooner like in my 20s, progressing a little faster & having a little more flexy would have been nice 🙂
