Yes I am really scared of this one myself. When I see women do it, my heart stops and the other night when I tried it a few times, I thought I don’t know if I will ever do this. It’s just so scary to me and I don’t feel secure at all doing it. Now the CKR I’m ok with, it just feels a little more secure with that knee lock. I think its going to be months maybe even years before I am comfortable with doing a CAR but honestly maybe not even then…I’m cool with that particular move being left out off my poling roster.

Keep trying! pole sit was my nemisis too for about a full week! It was driving me insane! But I just kept at it and then BAM! I finally was able to stick it and hold it. Easy no, painful yes. Even now a week later, I still try and do it a few times every practice session and it gets a little easier each time and I can hold it for a lil longer each time as well which is exciting. Hang in there!

I’m fairly new too been poling about 5 months…Don’t feel bad! The strength takes awhile to build up and when I say awhile I mean weeks…but honestly I think it all depends on how often you get to/decide to practice! I probably would have been poling climbing and been a little more ahead strength and move wise if I had a pole at home sooner to practice on I think. I was poling close to 3 months before I could climb and I still struggle with climbing a little now days. I just got a pole at home a couple months ago and I’ve seen a difference in my learning since having a pole to practice on. Practice, practice, practice and just as equally important…patience make perfect! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif Don’t give up!

I warm up with shoulder rolls, wrist rolls, neck rolls push ups, jumping jacks, a little leg streching, ankle and foot rolls. Then I start slow with a little around the pole stuff like pole walks, pole turns, back bends and things of that nature, then slowly work my way into pole poses. Then I focus on the things I am having trouble with for a little while, then just play on the pole–spinning, poses etc until I’m spent. Some days when I am feeling particularily ambitious, I will also throw in working on floor or leg work practice.
