I bought her 5 videos and I love them to death!  Especially the flexibility cause I think that, that is my little niche in pole.  I already have natural flexibility, so I want to go even more.  Any who, but some of the moves she did on beginner was not beginner for me like the pole split I was like what?!  I'm still working on it.  I would recommend it.  I actually switch between hers and Alethea Austin's.  Since I bought the pack of 5 I got a free tank top!

I'm looking for a crash mat too.  The mat from urban dancer  looks good I saw that they were sold out, so I hope they make them in pink cause it said more colors are coming soon.  I think I might get a travel one so I can take it to my studio too.

I can't even get on the site to look at the mats that Alena sells.

For our fall Equinox, I made a great roasted vegetable medley and that was great!  I'll look for it and post it!

Pole gal I would start lower to the ground, so it doesn't seem so far down to go.  In cheerleading we use to cheat by sitting on one butt cheek, parting our legs and then rolling forward putting ourselves in it.  If you don't go all the way down then that's fine when you can't stand it roll back to the side.  Or you can use yoga blocks to put under your thighs to help take the pressure off of your hip joints.  You want to stay in the stretch I know it hurts, but you have to stay in the stretch so you can continue to go further down.  If you pop up after 10 seconds you aren't doing anything, you have to try and hold it for 30 seconds or as close to 30 seconds as you can get.

Try Youtube they have a bunch of videos on splits and flexibility and its FREE information.  When it comes to practice, do what your body can do, you don't want to hurt yourself trying to do the splits.  All of those suggestions are based on what those peoples bodies can do, when I first started out I did it every 2 days then as I got more comfortable I did every other day, now I do it every day while I'm watching television.  If you want to progress a little faster then I would say every other day give your body extra rest if it needs it.  If your legs are like screaming then don't force it.  Can not stress it enough, LISTEN TO YOUR BODY!  Your body at 13 is way different from now.  When I was that age I could put my feet behind my head.  That is not the case now, but I'm working on it again and one day I'll have it, but I don't over do it.  Another thing is to keep your body warm and do something to warm your body up before you do the splits or you will really hurt yourself.  Since it is the summer I just don't turn on the AC in my apartment and I use the heat in my apartment to help loosen me up and stuff.  Sure I'm a soggy mess afterwards, but I'm good and stretched and it took little effort since I was nice and warm.

I agree with Runemist34.  I have both of Felix Cane and Alethea Austins Pure Splits and they are both very good dvds.  Most of all since its been a while be patient with your body.  You can also find some stuff on Youtube as well there are a ton of cheerleading type tutorials and stretching tutorials, just look through them and see what you like.

Christmas tree splits huh?  Well my apartment is small so I normally get those little Rosemary trees, so I'll try that.  However I don't put mine up until Christmas Eve.  It is a tradition that my mom did with us and then it just stuck.   https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

My friend had that problem and she literally had to wrap her ankle with a heating pad and she would do the normal point, flex, side to side, around in a circle  motions to loosen it up.  it took some time though, but she would do it every day, twice if she could, but you know life is going on and sometimes you can't do twice a day.  Maybe that could work for you.  O and I would try wearing socks that covers your ankle.  Your ankle needs to stay warm, you may also need anklebraces too.  Definitely go see your doctor to make sure.

Congrats on your achievements and good luck on the rest of your goals.

My mom loves the fact that I do pole.  I sent her a celphone picture of me in the Scorpian and she was blown away!  I'm sorry your Mother wasn't as cool with it, but some people will always view it under a negative light.  I'm sure that if she saw it in full swing on youtube or even on this site where people keep their clothes on, she might have a slight change of mind.

One of my teachers was telling me that it all deepens, the smaller poles are good for inverts and spins, but some peole feel that when it comes to climbing 5o's are good.  The smaller ones are preffered because people feel more secure on it.  You know less metal in your creases. lol

I just found out that mine is 50.  Which is fine with me.  I have small hands, but I'd rather get used to this size then have a smaller one get used to the smaller one and then go some where that has a 50 and then have a hard time with it.

I'll try that!  I'll just see what works for me.  I tried the dew drop Super ( the strongest one), that didn't work at all I was a little confused by it. I was actually quite slick.
