My husband has it on a shirt and people love that shirt. He is in the military and he just make sure for the sake of the ear noise that he only wears the shirt around people that are not up tight. I served as well and one of my friends actually stripped when she was on liberty. They can’t do a thing about it as long as she didn’t wear anything that pertained to the military, so maybe it’s the Army sticker next to it that upset people, but if people truly wanted to get bent out a shape I would think every service member would be brought up on charges because you aren’t allowed to copulate in any other position other than missionary, so people need to gasp and clutch their pearls over their own OMG’s.

I don’t diet. I find it a waste of my time and stressful. I was SO STRESSED OUT with weighing and being so nit picky that I still wasn’t reaching my body goals and then THAT STRESSED ME OUT! I do eat A LOT, but now I’m better about it. I like to call it lean and clean. Instead of “dieting” do a life style change. I’ve notice that with myself and with my friends that when they say, “I’m dieting”; it never lasts and then they stop doing it and they gain extra with the amount that they just lost. By saying lifestyle it truly is a lifestyle change. With poling I have recently started doing the 21 day fix because the maker of this lovely product gives you containers so you don’t need to worry about the scale. If it fits in the container you can eat it. It gives you a little mathematical equation to tell you which container program you belong to. That determines how many of which colored containers that you are allowed. She also gives you a list of fruits veggies proteins etc. The closer to the top of the list it is, the better it is for you. So I have made it my lifestyle to do better portion control. So since you want to put on more (right? or am I wrong?) then you would to the second option of containers. It’s really cool you should check it out. One thing I do as well is I give myself a treat every week just once a week. So if I want ice cream, I will buy the tiny little ones that you can get at the store from Hagen Daz (the 1 serving size) and that’s it. I don’t care if it’s craving or not. I deserve it there is nothing wrong with it. But one of my favorite people to follow for lean cooking is Brenda Leigh Turner from YouTube, she is Awesome! I make my meals over the weekend and then I put them in containers and all I have to do is grab and go. I also like to cook more Mediterranean. I grew up eating that way and then I left my mother’s house and well I started to fend for myself and didn’t really pay attention to what I was eating. My favorite snacks is hummus and Veggies, Mary gone crackers is amazing, cucumbers and home made guacamole Autumn Calabrese has this amazing chocolate kale snack that is on YouTube, so yummy.

Maybe you could also see if you have any food allergies. Get with a dietician because the foods that I can eat you may not be able too. Like cheese.I don’t have an issue with cheese, but my hubby is lactose intolerant. I can eat bananas, but my husband can’t, so I think finding out the foods that you have sensitivity to is key. A dietician can put you on the right path. Drink water every chance you get. Flush out those toxins.

I flip flop with my exercise routines too, it keeps things fresh and FUN! I do Ashtanga, and Vinyasa Yoga. I used to have body envy when I first started cause they were in those tiny little shorts and had flat stomachs, but then I could do way more then them and then they were envious of me. =)
So I have to say that I had a strut for a good little while.

I would start doing some weight training. Weight training will tone you and then what you eat will trim you. An example of body weight exercise is pull ups, wall sits, push ups. All the exercises that you don’t use weights for. You are using your own body weight for resistance.

Speaking form experience, Brass is good if you are newer to pole and you need more grip, Chrome is more slippery, but it’s what the pole shows usually use. I have a chrome and it needs a good amount of tac for me to stick to it depending on the weather and such. But the place where I practice has brass and I hardly have issues with it unless it’s a really hot day. However once your hands build strength the chrome won’t seem so slippery.

Well I would have to be there to hear the tone, but you answered him just fine. With Alcohol and a towel. I know at most strip clubs the girl that has finished her set wipes down the pole for the next girl and if the next girl wants to wipe it down one more time then that’s fine. At pole shows like with BeSpun they have girls come out and wipe it down for them. I’m wondering if that dude was meaning it in a sexual tone. I had friend’s of friends say to me, “Hey I got a pole you can clean, polish, buff (whatever)”. I don’t pay them any mind, my time is to valuable to put up with their duche-iness. Also I personally (this is just me) would inform your friend about how inappropriate he is being and that it made you super uneasy. Also I would probably not hang with that friend if her husband is going to be around. He is extremely disrespectful. I would ask him a question to embarrass the hell out of him. If he asks about the pole I would have said “Why you asking are you looking for a job”? For the comment of throwing dollars during practice, I would have said, “Save it, you need all you have to buy you some class”. I can be just as quick with the wit.

Oh I don’t know. I haven’t even heard of those. Hmmm, I would like to know the answer to that too.

  • Sup Amanda! You know what? It’s not a bad thing at all. I mean you are doing it for the arts trust and believe there are Christians that do it in the clubs. I always tell people that to be Christian is to live Christ like and Jesus did not judge, so I tell people to avoid judgey preachy people or just don’t tell them. You are not in the boom boom room giving people a eyeful you have found a new and exciting hobby that you are crazy about and that’s all that matters. People are going to hate on you no matter what it’s a sad, sad hating world that we dwell in. No matter you are among people who are like minded and share you passion and won’t judge you (unless you are in a competition, but then that is entirely different) =)
Absolutely nothing wrong with it whether its a hobby or a profession it all depends on your passion, comfort and confidence.

January 5, 2015 at 5:29 pm in reply to: Newbie here. Suggestions for pole heels?

I started with 5″ because I don’t wear heels in my everyday life, then you’ll notice that 5″ is easy, so then you go up from there.=) I’m a fan of Pleasers, but if you have some cash to burn then a nice treat are Glitter Heels, but you have to give it a month before you get them because the lady who makes the heels basically makes them as you order them. Discountstripper is a good website to buy from. Also try to get the shoes where the toe area is a little wider, so you feel more supported. Sometimes you’ll put on heels where the front section of the foot might be a little more narrow and if you aren’t used to heels you may feel more wobbly.

If you think that the 30 day was easy try doing DVD’s Cleo the Hurricane has 2 good ones that really kick your butt. She has Rockin Legs and abs and then her new own where it has sections that focus on strength and she teaches different routines. Really cool. If that doesn’t tucker you out, then you may want to head to a class if there are any in your area.

I have heard a couple of ways I have heard to stair out past the pole at something in the area where your spinning, like dancers always have a spot when the do their turns. and I have heard stare at the pole. I prefer stare at the pole because it’s technically the only thing that is still that I can focus on. Then I get off the pole I take an extra second or 2 to steady myself then I do my next move. Floor work is always a favorite. That way you can lay down or sit while your vision goes back to normal. =)

I don’t have a gym membership, I do everything at home. One ting that helped me tone is wearing ankle weights and I would go for a walk I would even wear them under my pants at work, no one knew I was wearing them. Weight training is important when it comes to toning, so I would sneak it in that way. I also do barre ballet type exercises. There are a tone of DVD’s out there that will give you a great ballet leg workout.

  • Well I did High School Cheerleading and Drama and I did my fair share of dancing. When it comes to Pole doing those other 2 things helps me get comfortable in the positions that you have to get yourself into and the confidence to know that if you don’t get the trick right away, you eventually will. My issues that I still don’t always can get is feeling sexy. Sometimes I think I’m doing a move all sorts of sexy then I look in the mirror and it just isn’t and then I could just be trying to figure something out and my husband would come by and tell me how sexy I look. I’m totally baffled because I’m in the stages of figuring it out, I’m still clumsy. lol So then I just recently got it in my head to not over think and to not try and perfect certain moves. sometimes your body just needs to get used to the movement or pose. When it comes to performance just have fun. The Audience will feed off of that and in turn you will feed off of them. Oh and another thing is to choose music that you can use movement to help tell the story or has that unique beat where you could put a sassy move or pose, like its perfectly on that beat. If you get the chance look at some burlesque performances they tend to do that well.

December 16, 2014 at 3:32 pm in reply to: Anyone have any suggestions for circus sounding music?

It’s the first song on the second disc Christina Aguilera’s Back to Basics album it has a Circus sound to it, but it’s short. I believe it’s called Enter the Circus. It’s like 1 or 2 minutes long, which isn’t that long at all. lol
There is also Britney Spears Circus, lol Can’t be tamed by Miley Cyrus, Fun house from Pink. And there was a song that I can’t think of the name, but Panic at the Disco did a video and it was circus themed. An oldy but a goody is Be a Clown. Then of course you might be able to find a cd of circus style music just like you can find for burlesque.

    Good Luck!
