All, I can say is that I feel like the iguana mount takes some flexibility in the hamstrings. I keep my feet away from the pole just a foot or so so that I can put the back of my shoulder on the pole (not my whole back). I found that sometimes, when I’m not feeling as stretchy, it helps to start on my tiptoes. Hope that helps!

Hey, we’re glad you’re here! Sorry you were out of commission for awhile! I’m glad you’re starting to feel better! Keep us updated on how things are going…pole and otherwise! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

Yeah, just a practice thing I guess https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif I notice that my arms seem more sore even with the basics on spin. Well, I feel pretty confident on static so I’m sticking with that for now but just trying to switch it up a bit when practice gets so repetitive.

Thanks y’all! That helps! I figured they were in the same family of moves! Hmm…gotta find out what this lunchbox thing is. Hey Veena, if you’re going in to change some of the names throw some more lessons in there too!!! I absolutely love all of them. Errrr…not that I can actually do all of them. I’m in between pages 7 and 8 out of 10 right now but I’d hate to ever get to the end! Haha! I guess I just want neverending SV lessons. They’re just so helpful and clear Although I’d have no suggestions on other moves to showcase! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_moneyeyes.gif !

    Karol and Angel-
I’d really be down for a trip to Baltimore for class or jam or whatever with yall! Sounds like fun! We should all try to get together for things! For scheduling (at least mine!) it might be easier either late Nov. or early Jan b/c December in my world gets kinda hectic with the holiday and family and stepkids and stuff. My guess is that if you guys decide to do it in Dec I’d probably find a way to go anyway!

Ok, so I think you’re saying that the iguana is the mount to get upside down with your hands behind your back and then the pencil is a way that you could finish the iguana mount by ending up with your feet sticking straight up in the air. Correct me if I got it wrong! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cat.gif

Thanks for clarifying for me! Yeah, I definately plan to put the pics on a USB. Thanks for bearing with me! I’m sure almost everyone knows this stuff already. So, one more thing. I guess to put vids on my USB I would have to transfer the vid from my RCA camcorder’s USB to the computer (and edit if I want) and then transfer the vid from the computer to my USB disk (and erase it from the harddrive)?

yeah, I was at the very back of the "VIP" section and the ushers there were all over the girls next to me about them possibly recording. I think one poor girl was just checking her facebook inbetween dancers but the usher was eyeballing her pretty hard!

YAY KAROL! She just seemed to float on the pole! Karol really rocked the pole! Everything she did was so controlled! YAY! All the girls did such a beautiful job! And Jenyne Butterfly was an awesome guest dancer! BTW, there was a standing ovation at the end of the show! This was the first show I’d been to and it was so great I’m still psyched!

Holy crap! I didn’t realize that the event is in Charlottesville!! I’m in Richmond so that’s only an hour away from me!! Is it really Sunday at The Paramount at 3:00pm? I have no pole friends in Richmond (everyone I know is too chicken). IS ANYONE MEETING UP BEFORE THE SHOW? I’D LOVE TO MEET AND SIT WITH THE GIRLS FROM SV!

    Hey,

I learned from rock climbing hard for a few years that you tear down muscle when you use it and then you really only build muscle when you give your body a rest after a hard session. If you don’t take at least a day in between hard practices, your body never has a chance to build up the muscle.

I do a couple of hours of learning new moves on Friday nites and Sundays, a super light session on Monday (maybe walking around it and floor work) and then Wednesday I go to pole class which is also pretty light.

My hub could do a kickass inverted V from the very first day we put the pole up!
