I’ve seen both moves with your knees on the pole and your legs completely off the pole. I am more interested right now with legs still on the pole as I can assure you my upper body strength and pole experience is still being worked on!

I talked to my Dermo’s nurse and they will NOT let me fill my prescription. My cholesteral is over 400! I don’t know how that it possible. I think because the night before my tests my fiance passed his contractor’s license test and we celebrated. I ate quite a bit and had 1 beer. I stopped eating at 8pm. I had to fast for 8 hours. I had my blood work done around 8am the next morning! I think that is what happened. I NEVER eat that late or so much plus I had dessert. I am so mad at myself. Now I have to do another lab on Monday morning and the doctor will look at the results on Tuesday. I was totally looking forward to getting that prescription filled. I burst out crying because my face looks horrible! Why do I have the bad luck?!?

Yeah for accutane!!!! I had managable acne in my teens and early twenties, but after I had my first baby it turned into horrible cystic acne. Oh it was so painful!!! The doctor was confused because she said usually acne gets better after you have babies, but obviously that wasn’t the case for me. I went on accutane last summer and had the best experience!!! If it wasn’t so bad for you I would be on it for the rest of my life! I normally have VERY oily skin, and it is still oily since going off accutane, but definitely not half as bad as it was. And I don’t get the cystic acne anymore, just a minor break out every now and then, but nothing that can’t be controlled by topical creams. I remember hearing and reading so many horror stories about being on accutane, so I was so scared to start it, but besides the dryness it was awesome, and I will so do it again if I have to. Acne is so debilitating, and it not only scars physically, but emotionally as well. People who are blessed enough to have always had nice skin don’t realize how lucky they are, and don’t understand how painful it can be. I’ve heard a lot of ‘"You need to change your diet" or "You need to try this natural remedy", but some people don’t know that some forms of acne are genetic and there isn’t anything you can do to make it go away. Anyways…good luck and I am so excited and happy for you! Keep us posted https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif
I had horrible acne in my teens. I went on Accutane and I became a whole different person. I was more sociable, happy and confidant. When I became pregnant instead of having beautiful, glowing skin I started getting minor breakouts. They got worse once I actually gave birth. The last 3 years though it has been really bad. I have huge cystic acne along my jaw line and on my cheeks. I even get them on/near my ear and they hurt so bad! This weekend I couldn’t even enjoy myself because I thought everyone was starting at my face. I waited so long to go on Accutane again because I heard you are limited to taking it only twice in your life. It is no longer the case. You can take it multiple times as long as you follow all the guidelines.

I used to have horrible acne, and for my age, I still do… it’s gotten better since high school, but it’s still really bad. It’s all stuff under the skin. My husband picks on me sometimes, says some of the pimples need their own area code. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif I refuse to wear make-up because of it.
Almost everything I’ve tried has dried my face out really badly, like the dry skin peeling off my face is just as unsightly as the acne itself (hence the reason why I stopped using anything). So does this stuff do that, too??? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif
Foxy,
The stuff did not dry out my face. It is an oral pill so it’s not like that crap you smear on your face that makes it peel. It does have some minor draw backs. You can’t get waxed, use vasoline on your lips, sunblock always and it may get worse for 1-2 weeks then poof they are gone! I used this stuff when I was 14 and it last until I was about 24 and it slowly started coming back. Usually a dermo will make you do many other meds and creams before prescribing Accutane just because the strength of the stuff. I would talk to your doctor to discuss it further, but it is wonderful and I can’t wait to get my face cleared up! -
OK so there have been some mixed feelings and opinions, which are greatly appreciated. I gained 70 pounds when I was pregnant. You know it’s bad when your doctor tells you, you are gaining too much pregnancy weight for one baby. Gaining 10 pounds a month was bad. I lost it all! Then I gained 15 pounds when my Dad died in a motorcycle accident. I am eating right and exercising. I am not trying to take the easy way out. It’s not like I am tryi8ng to get thinner. I simply want to lose the extra lose skin! I hate doing floor moves on my hands and knees and my stomach is hanging low and wobbling around! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif
I agree with roxy, you absolutely cannot tighten extra lose skin. It has nowhere to go. I am not trying to change my face at all. I am simply trying to fix the belly situation so I can enjoy the way I look. Thanks to everyone for the support!P.S.
I am gonna post a pic this weekend so then maybe you will understand the lose skin situation. -
I’ve also been pretty open about my self inflicted wounds. I carry scars that make me very self-conscious. They have procedures to fix them. Some people may look down on this as well by saying "well you shouldn’t have done that to yourself in the first place". There have been many events in my life that brought me to that extreme.
I know how you feel. I was also a cutter for many many years. I am half mexican, so with darker skin I keloid very easily. I have since hidden most of my self-inflicted scars with tattoos. HAHA I just can’t seem to get away with marking my body in some ways. I am scared of scars from a tummy tuck. With my BA they did the implants through my belly button so there are no scars. I am not sure how the scars will look with a tummy tuck on me. That is definately a down fall for me.
It’s defiantly a personal decision you have to really think through. How long have you been dancing??? If your new to this you might want to give it some time. I lost 30 lbs pole dancing and changing my diet. I don’t have kids though, so I can’t relate in that way. Ultimately, do what makes you happy.

I’ve been dancing for almost 2 months. It’s not really that I need to lose weight, its that I can’t get the lose skin to ever firm up! It doesn’t matter if I lose weight or do 100 crunches a day, nothing will work. Its a matter of I have too much skin now. I am only doing it for myself. I could care a less what society thinks, it’s what I think that matters! Thanks!

I wouldn’t use lotion. Can be bad for the pole and it could be dangerous if it’s too slippery. It’s kinda a motto not to use any lotions or oils and such when you pole.
How long have you do your pole? Stainless is the worst with grip when it’s brand new and gets grippier the more you use it. Have you had it for a long time and it’s just getting too grippy now??? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif
I have had my pole for pnly about 2 months. I have no idea why it is so "grippy" now! My skin just sticks too good. It hurts or annoying because I can’t get down graceful since I am stuck!

Thanks everyone I will definately take more time for stretching. I am limited on time alot or I just want to get right down to poling that I kinda rush warm-up to be honest. I do need to drink more water I know that much!

The ones I am looking are vinyl knee high boots! They are 55.00 and free shipping! Just do a search for stripper shoes and narrow search to boots and your size and they’ll come up!

I am having a custom pole made for my boat! That’s as close to poling and water I’ll go!

I just got over the pain. I would give it a rest a day or two then continue on. It felt like my joints/knuckles were so severely bruised I couldn’t hold on to the pole. It was bad for over a week. I just took tylenol and then pain is now totally gone.

I used to have the opposite problem. My legs were too short and super skinny. I took them to a shoe repair place and they altered them for me. I am not sure what they can do with vinyl boots, but they might be able to help.

Hey fellow newbie I too posted a similar thread a week or two ago so we are in the same boat. It no longer hurts me to climb or sit. My skin got used to the "sitting" with 2-3 weeks. The only thing that really hurts right now is leaning downward into the falling angel knee hold. You are really luck because I am nowhere need doing even the basic invert. It totally sucks because I keep practicing and not improving that. Good luck. I know it hurts now, but trust me it will get better!
