I had more issues with powder coated in the cold than I ever did with any other material. When the pole is colder and your body is warmer the paint just is not porous enough to absorb the moisture and it seems like it always had a thin layer of condensation.
That said, I am also not a huge fan of brass just because of them smell. I have a chemistry that turns a lot of perfume sour and that I think is the reason I get so smelly on it. The grip is amazing (one reason I wish they still made the titanium pole) but the odor is a complete no go for me.When I lived in Ohio chrome was the best for me. Now that I live in NC I prefer stainless.
I will also add that my experience with PC was on a Lil Mynx. I have never been on the XPole powder coated.

There is also a possibility that your pole is not straight. Did you check the level on 2 planes?

I am still around! I know that some of the CBus and Cinci crew are still poling they just don’t get on here much.

RPoles are prohibitively expensive if you are in the US. Last time I checked it was going to be about $1800 with shipping.

If it is indeed an original XPole that video should help.

Chains are not something to fool around with!
If you have a fetish/BDSM club in your area you may want to contact them and see if they know of anyone. Usually the “underground” crown that deals in suspensions and such play with chains. BUT PLEASE BE CAREFUL. Chains are no joke and you can seriously do damage if you have someone who is less than spot on with training.

As a clarification, the only difference between “amateur” and “professional” competitors in USPDF is whether or not you hold a title or not. Wendy set up the levels like they do in professional bodybuilding.
Competitions are ridiculously expensive to put on and NYC is one of the more expensive cities to hold one. Rumblings that I heard underground (and this is true of several competitions that have gone away) is that too much money is lost holding them. I also know that there was a lot of push back because USPDF was the LEAST transparent when it came to scoring. The bar has been lifted for running competitions.

I am pretty sure that you can still get 3 free days of lessons before buying. That way you can look around and see if you like the lessons before committing. Honestly Veena’s lessons and progression and strength exercises are probably the best out there for an at home poler. Her 30 day take off is excellent for conditioning and her POC really help. On top of that there are still a lot of people here who can answer questions when you get stuck. I don’t think you will be sorry at all.

MemberFebruary 8, 2016 at 10:41 pm in reply to: DIY Portable Pole Stage/DIY Swinging Pole?I personally would never trust a home made pole for performance purposes, ESPECIALLY a swinging one! Karol Helms has a swinging pole and I know that Dakota Fox at Aradia in Raleigh just ordered one from Pantera.

Okay, I am not sure if they changed the design or not so this is coming from my working with them 5 years ago. There used to be a double type set screw; basically a small screw hidden by one of the larger screws. You could only access it by taking out the large screws (which you have done). Take a flashlight to the openings that you have removed those screws from and see if you see another smaller screw inside. This may be your issue as it sits in a divot.
-
There are a ton of screws in the base of the stage that will get loose with use. When I taught on them I had to tighten them fairly routinely. If you turn the base over you will see a bunch of them near the center where the collar fits into the spine.
-
To get the base off you need to unscrew the same screws you do o put it into spin mode (the ones that line up with the X’s).
