    Welcome!

If you are on Facebook, look up the Grande Dames of Pole. There are lots of us "older"(as in over 40) ladies taking up pole.

    SWISS CURL

    https://www.studioveena.comhttp&#58://www.oxygenmag.com/content/oxy113/training_2_swiss.jpg

    Target Muscles: hamstrings
    Synergist Muscles: gastrocnemius, erector spinae

Set Up: Lie supine on the ground with your knees bent and your heels on the top of an exercise ball. Lift your hips up as high as you can (A).

Action: Roll the ball away from you until your legs are straight but your knees are not locked. Hold for a second (B) and then roll the ball back towards you by bending your knees. Repeat.

If you do not go to the gym at all these are great.

And don’t worry about "bulking up into hulk mode". Women naturally do not have enough testosterone to get huge. The women you see that are like that have cycled steroids or have taken testosterone.

You will, I know it! It is tricky to get it smooth since your flippin the direction of your body completely. I actually do mine from a pike cause I hate doing it from a gemini so much lol.

Next time I see you you need to show me this. I have yet to figure it out and am not sure if it is due to technique or just my body type/flexibility issues.

    Get to the doctor. NOW.

Lack of energy can have all sorts of causes and the last thing you want to do is throw supplements a something you don’t understand.

I was pretty active but am far from "ripped". Don’t get me wrong, it took almost a year for me to be able to hold the knee hold without screaming and jumping up and down. I still have issues with it when my knees are sweaty (nothing like a hard pole rolling over your knee cap…yowch!!).

What helped me a lot is getting that placement on the upper leg down. For me it is not crammed right into the knee pit but more of a hamstring/calf type of grip. Pushing the hips forward…..seriously forward….is the second trick. I straighten my body before I even let go with my hands and even before that bottom leg is totally "set".

I am also tall with most of me being legs (42" for floor to hip and I am just under 5’8") and did not have too many issues with both of these moves (besides pain). However I cannot go from outside leg hang into star easily but I think that is more due to having crappy center splits.

I had an instructor tell me to sand down my calluses because they could break open and put a hole in your palm for a little bit. Because the skin is so hard and you are constantly strecthing it.

    Any ideas on this?
I have had mine peel the top few layers but never have I had one break open and leave a hole.

I would have let the cops come. You had just as much right to be there as they did. I also would have said that I did not have the chest to work at "name of local strip club" but you obviously think that I have skills, so I will take that as a compliment!

Do not let people like that drag you to their level. By getting upset and leaving they "won". You were doing nothing wrong.

I don’t see anything wrong with is but I would not even consider using dried basil in this. That would be a sin!

The X-pert spins and the X-sport does not. As far as I know that is the only difference.

Englann…I think in my practice video and also the vid from when we were down in Columbus both show how I get into superman. I was having the same issues and found that if you go into side V first it makes it a lot easier to flip the hips. There was discussion about this a few months back:

You really need to get in touch with Jungle Cat or maybe even Josiah (Badazz on youtube), possibly even Joel (poledancefan), although I think he is more self taught than studio taught. I have been seeing a lot of hip-hop/break dancing mixed with pole lately and that might be a route you would want to take.

We are taking our motorhome and a few extra days. Looking like we will be in town some time on Thursday and leaving out on Monday. Tuesday is our anniversary so we are going to be playing that weekend. Plus one of my sisters lives about 30 minutes away so I should really visit her.

So we have an anniversary and a birthday…anything else to celebrate??

I tried the almond chocolate chip cookies too and talk about yum! I have not figured out how to make almond butter in my vitamix yet (I make natty PB just fine). I also found that the recipe for the ice cream cookie without the ice cream is pretty tasty. I think it is oatmeal and dark chocolate. I substituted oat flour for whatever type of flour it called for. They are pretty dangerous! Oh, the "yogurt cheese" (basically greek yogurt) and melted dark chocolate is heavenly, especially when spread on the above cookies!

I have a few that I will post up when I get home.

One of my biggest loves that I found with clean eating is panko bread crumbs. My husband will buy fish and then double dip using panko and egg beaters and then bake in the oven. You would swear that it was fried!
