I am not sure of the name of it…for some reason a spin up is coming to mind. I have seen it a million times…..
Just found it in another thread here….it is covered in Jamilla’s AOP Vol 3.

I’ve got a class now where they are still kicking up into their inverts so inverts were taken away but I need more than laybacks and climbing so I taught them side climb to cupid/knee swing, basic teddy bear, aerial fan kicks to pole sit, peter pan, pole bend, sidespin/can opener to star, thigh hold, the roxy, cradle variations. You get the idea.
This right here is HUGE. I can see each move as you are saying it. If someone is going to teach pole they NEED TO LEARN NAMES OF MOVES AND VARIATIONS!!!! I work full time and have a 45 minute commute but I am still able to do a little research on a weekly basis and learn what these moves are. No studio owner is THAT BUSY that they cannot go to wikipole or watch a few youtube videos to see what their students are inquiring about.
OK….end rant.

I am not a studio owner but I will comment about advanced moves. Currently in town there is really no one who knows them, let alone teach them. One studio owner does not even invert, so I have heard. I have stopped taking lessons because it was more of a pole play session than a lesson. Within a year and a half some of the students are outgrowing the instructors and there is no one in town to keep those students interested.

Aloe vera gel also works.

I cannot do the unhooked version and I think it may be because I have pretty much nothing when it comes to center splits.
I will note that the further you push your hips the less it hurts. My biggest problem with this is sweaty knees! And let me tell you….your knee rolling over the pole when you lose this hold is not a fun feeling!

It is funny because after I saw his post I sent englann a message stating that I did not know what their relationship was but he views her with much love.

My CKR is far away from the pole also but I think it is meant to be that way. Now for CAR I am much closer, but my grip starts close to my butt in the back and catches just before my knees on the front.

That was an awesome post when he put it up there…especially coming from a guy.
(but I still think the other butt head needs an attitude adjustment)

PDR….Empyrean has something going on facebook about it. Not sure if you are friends with her or not.
There is a vote currently for weekends that won’t work:
Midwest Pole Jam

That is the exact same tip I was taught! I will also add that it works!
As for the jams…they are for EVERYONE.
Chicago….there is a group of polers that are trying to get together in Chicago some time in July. Dates are not yet set. There are some ladies that I have been chatting with since my first days (2.5 years….WOW) that are supposed to be there and I am very excited.
-
Be does…not too sure about Cleveland Exotic. Not too many people take advantage of the one at Be though.
Oh, yeah…don’t forget:
Trip to Chicago for the jam in July/August
Extra $$ for workshops within neighboring states…there are some good ones coming up!
Trip to Columbus for the next Ohio Girls jam -
Momma…as for the shoes….Priscilla’s every year has a huge shoe blowout sale. I have been watching for it. I will try calling the store today and see if they have any intel. They have had some REALLY cute shoes in the past and I think they are all $19.99.
As for the sports bra, Walmart carries the Danskin brand of sports bras and they are only about $9. I like the medium impact ones (because they do not totally squish down what little I have) and have also looked at the high impact ones. I think I have them in every color that has existed over the last 2 years!!
Pole shorts: Again Walmart. Danskin has some that a few of the girls like (and they are right next to the sports bras). OP also has some cute teeny shorts out right now and they are like $5.
Can’t help on the lessons.

ok so good Q. how bad is it if i pole days in a row as long as i am not sore? like can i do some pole inverts ect today and tommorow and the next day if i am only doing like 30mins at a time and not sore/tender/fatigued? or is it a pretty hard rule not to work the same muscles days in a row even if not sore? sometimes i am feeling it and want to pole every day other times maybe 1 or 2x week..
Your body needs a chance to rest and rebuild muscles. Over time the over use will lead to injury and possibly a life time of issues. It has been over 2 years since I first injured my shoulder and it still acts up. Some may not show up until later in life. I am 41 and had knee issues starting in my late 20’s. After several exams and MRI’s it was determined that all of the roller skating that I did when I was younger was the cause of my problem.
I suggest reading up on repetitive motion injuries. It really is not worth it!
