Time to update. I am not bothering with center splits progress as that really is not a goal I am trying to obtain. It looks like I have made some progress, although I will admit that it has only been a little over a month that I have been stretching at least 3x per week.
Start was end of November, the bottom pic was almost 2 weeks ago.

I think it may have to do with old roller skating injuries. That leg just does not want to go straight, even in a straddle.

There is only a small clip of Darryl Hannah on youtube but this is when Sheila Kelley started pole dancing going on to start S Factor because of that experience.

The CAR took me forever to get because the grip for me on this one is so much farther down than on the CKR. My ending grip is right before the boney part of my knee and there is also a lot more of the pole to skin contact as the "back" of the pole is up to the thickest part of my thigh/hamstring. For me that is a good 7-8" of pole surface that prevents me from sliding.

I found the video! It was posted up 3 years ago! WOW. I cannot believe how far pole dancing has come in 3 years! When I first saw this there were hardly any pole videos on youtube.

i looked online and saw my first video it was in black and white titled ‘amazing pole dancer’ I saw her doing the Caterpillar and was like NO Fing way! She looked strong but she wasnt SUPER buff and thats when i was like…hummm…maybe i can learn too..?
That is the EXACT same video I saw!!! I think she also did a side climb in that one which also impressed me but not as much as the caterpillar climb. -
I am sorry to hear this Veena. Much strength and love being sent to you and Webmaster.

Has anyone else wondered if pole dancing in general doesn’t affect our sexual orientation? We spend most of our time being in awe of what another woman’s (and I say woman because we just dont’ see nearly as many guys doing it) body does and admiring other women that I think we start to become "pole-bi"!!!
Or should I say "bi-poler"? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif
I think poling in general opens a lot of sexual awareness period. I am sure that many here used to be very uptight about their bodies, being naked in front of others, touching themselves, etc etc etc. This is the area I think S Factor has really honed in on and why it has such a following. I think it is also one of the reasons so many of us love this so much….it is something in our lives where we can be women and sexy and it is OK.

And the first time I saw alethea do a floorwork only routine I about died of WOW.
That is not wow….that is wondering if you are still heterosexual https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_eek.gif

MemberMarch 10, 2010 at 10:06 pm in reply to: Straight Edges Ayesha and Shoulder MountsFor the straight edge I think it is really important to be able to have a solid headstand or handstand where you are not using the pole to brace yourself. You REALLY need core stabilization to get this move. And I was just the opposite….I got straight edge before aysha. The caterpillar climb helped me a lot with this, too.
And what Amy said about the SM. I have also found that as my grip and forearms have gotten stronger the SM has gotten easier.

I just noticed in that pic…..he has the magic finger going on!!!
Oh, yeah, and for those that have not seen him perform…he is HOLDING this pose, this is not a still of an action shot.
