The first is not a hip hold, you invert, go into outer leg hang and just bring the inner leg to the front – it’s only trying to look good, but doesent hold any weight -, then grab your outer foot.
It’s great for practising hip hold or jade though.Could the second one be martini girl?

I have the same problem!
Tilting slightly helps, but the only thing that really helps is some kind of grip aid, like hairspray…
I always thought it HAS to be possible without it – but when your legs sweat, it just gets slippery and down we go…
I was relieved when another dancer from my studio told me it’s only working with grip aid for her, too. -

I’m from Europe so no help on this, but I have the same idea for my holidays: I had to purchase a stage pole (star stand alone version 3) because of my ceiling. So this summer, I’ll make a road trip with a friend and my pole…
Where would you go to? Just outside to practise, to a beautiful scenery for pictures – maybe performing on some town square? (What problems could we face..?)
Has anyone done that? Maybe even in France, which is our plan?Have nice holidays!
