I just did it!!! twice!!!
Veena thanks so much for your advice, and everyone. The reason I was unable to do it was because my legs weren’t positioned right! I needed them more in line with pole to bring my knees bright behind the pole. I could only just manage it twice as my body was shaking from the squeezing on the way down (v.slow way down). I nearly cried after, had pillows everywhere and everything, it was easier once I was upside down and I just slid down to get out of it, will be a while before i can pull back up I think.
Soo happy! (and so sweaty) https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_compress.gif

I thought monkey climb was another word for pole climb. I have thought about online lessons but I don’t have a bank card I can use online, just a cash card I’m afraid. I may have to switch, lessons would be very useful. My right leg is in that position just sometimes I feel my left leg gets in the way. thanks!

Well I’m certainly not ready, I cant lift my knees past my waist/chest even when lying down and doing this on the pole is near impossible as my fat hip gets in the way and I’m too heavy so I slip down. maybe with grip cream I could do this. but again, cant lift the knees, stomach in the way https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif I had a feeling my inverting technique was shabby, but that’s what I get for being self taught. However I can monkey climb, does anyone else find it easier to climb with one leg (and other inner upper thigh) rather than 2?

I have done one today which shows me struggling with a number of things, I’m sure half of the problem is my weight, I look like I’m 6 months pregnant! I hold all my weight around my torso with skinny legs. mayeb I should concentrate on weight loss rather than pole moves !

Hi, regarding cross ankle release (It feels really weird for me to cross my legs, even when just sitting down on a chair for cross leg so I’m starting with cross knee)
I have been having a tonne of problems with this move since late May, poling on average for 30 mins 5 times a week, with 10 mins devoted to this move (I get too sweaty pretty quick)
My main problems are:
unable to get crossed legs upright against pole before laying back, the pole seems just too big, I’m squeezing it soo hard near my upper thighs but I can get no grip from mid thigh to knee. I’m squeezing in bum and rolling knees towards pole.
ah theres loads more but it makes more sense just to put it in a video. my upper thighs sweat and I just slip down pole alot too. grrr.

ooh I hate them fan legs, I can never get my legs pointy! I’ve been poling since jan but 4 years ago I was a lap dancer for a year and was on apole every night, just basic things thogh, it wasnt really a good place to learn any tricks so I didnt progress further than floorwork and spins. Also I was much lighter so things were easier. I’ll have a new go at fan legs and I’ve just read the thread on reverse grab and I yhink I’m using the wrong leg to push off from… cx

I can fully understand that there are times when surgery is the best option and can greatly improve an individuals life! I say if go for it, moreso if you are having irritation and a doctor has recommended it.

I swing my outside leg out on the first ‘step’ up the pole (so inside leg on pole outside leg pointed out and round?) I’m no instructor but I think I also pull myself up and round kind of like a cross leg fireman spin without so much spin

lol, Are we talking lady front bottom farts or traditional bottom? I have yet to experience any front bottom farts!

All the women in my family carry their weight in their stomach area and it’s a huge problem area for me. I am self conscious around my boyfriend too even though he says he thinks I’m fine and loves me the way I look now blah blah blah. .
Hey glitter, I know exactly what you mean, except its my dads side, he is a circuit training instructor and eats very little but has always had a tummy. My mam even offered that if I got real skinny and still had a tummy after I was 30 that she would pay for the surgery herself as it seemed so unfair.
I’m overweight now but when I’m thinner I still look about 3 months pregnant, I have no bum hold all my weight around my stomach! its awful, I’m such an apple shape and I knwo what you mean about affecting pole moves, alot of moves seem to require balencing of the body and its hard to do this when your weight is all centred, I need to wear leg weights and alot of the time my tummy prevents me from bending over the way I should and I feel I will never get the cross knee release! I have saggy skin and stretch marks on my tummy and I’ve never had a baby! However you ahve to think about the plus side. my legs are lovely and I wouldnt change them ever!
Glitter you have a lovely face and I always say I can loose weight and have a more beautiful body but people who aren’t so lucky to have a good face can never change that. I used to get so down on myself then one day in the car my dad said, "wow, imagine how unhappy you would be if you were ugly!" I’m not being nasty, It just helps sometimes to focus on the best bits! I still fatasize about the flat tummy though…
