I didnt read all the posts but i use Vibrant Health Pure Green Protein. It is plant based, gluten free, vegan, soy free and low in carbs and sugar. it has an essential amino acid ratio closer to human muscle then other forms of protein. I use the vanilla flavor and mix it with milk and take it right away after working out. I also use MRM's 100% all natural Reload for post workout muscle recovery. It is BCAA's (branch chain amino acids) and I take it right away after working out as well as my protein. Since taking the bcaa's, I notice i do recover quicker and am not as sore. Here is a quote from a pdf article ( there is this same/similar info on other fitness sites) "In the 20 minutes immediately following your workout, your body is most open to restocking lost glycogen. Aim to consume a 3:1 to 4:1 ratio of carbs-to-protein, in a snack or beverage within 20 minutes post-workout to optimize recovery benefits (studies suggest that the window for replenishment is quite small – by as early as the two-hour post-workout mark, muscle glycogen resynthesis is 50% less effective than in the first 20 minutes)" I have read that the best time for protein is within 20min-60min post workout. I buy both of these at super suplements. The protein powder i use also has a full disclosure label and no proprietary blends.

I considered myself a pole dancer as soon as I started classes lol. I had a pole before I started though. After like 2 months of owning a pole (I only did the beginner series class) I started filming myself….boy was I wrong! Lol, I think I should have waited to call myself a pole dancer haha! Seriously though, I think if you use a pole, you can call yourself a pole dancer. But what if you dont dance at all and just use it for holds and poses without transitioning? Can u call yourself a pole dancer if u dont dance? Just curious… hmmm

Not sure on that move but I think learning on both sides is best to prevent being unbalanced. I am not that good with elbow grip at all, it feels unsecure. It is getting better though the more I try. I think if u keep trying that the pole burn and stuff will go away or get better just like the other moves 🙂 Good luck!

Heres my starting point, I have done the splits a few times the last 3 months but they aren't consistent and not squared I think.

Go for it! You'll have the best of both worlds. I love my x-pert x-pole https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif I love spin mode, it adds a whole new type of dance and workout.

Don't know anything about windows 8 but there is also some other free editing software that I downloaded from cnet.com but I haven't tried them yet.

If you have windows it should already be on your pc 🙂

I use windows live movie maker. It should come with windows for free. There are a lot of good tutorials on youtube. Its pretty easy to learn and use.

Thanks 🙂 I'll try again, maybe something was weird with my xbox.

Speaking of phones, you can browse the internet with the xbox now but I couldn't view the lessons or videos with it. That would be great to be able to watch the lessons on the tv. not sure what that entails though, just a thought 🙂

MemberSeptember 15, 2013 at 6:57 pm in reply to: Is it wrong to prefer learning pole at home??I went to a studio for the beginner six weeks series and one extra class after that. I prefer at home as well. I do plan on purchasing some private instructions soon though. I didn't have any problems with the studio but the price and then driving there was getting to me. There was always to many people in the classes also. When warming up we would do stretching and floor work type stuff but the instructor would have us close our eyes, dim the lights and blast the music. I could barely hear her and I wouldn't know how properly do something or would do it wrong and it made me feel like a jack ass. We would all be rolling around and would bump into each other and the poles because there wasn't room for everyone doing the things we would do, especially since we were supposed to close our eyes lol. I liked the studio and instructor but not the teaching style at all. I like to learn at my own pace and for some moves I progress quicker and others would prob take more time for me. If I can't get something down or feel like i need instruction or a spotter then I will purchase private lessons. To each their own!

Good to know! I always thought it was blondie, I think she does do the song as well though.

Are you pushing out with your bottom hand to keep away from the pole?
