Thanks for this! I will try it as well. I got the sample pack for this new mighty grip stuff to try out as a beta tester. Haven’t had a chance to yet but the ingredients didn’t seem to appealing to put on my skin..I like not putting chemicals on my skin. I even quit using lotions all together and use grapeseed oil etc.. instead. What is the ingredients in this stuff?

Yeah since we can’t edit, just wanted to clarify that I wasn’t saying that typical exercise or taking ibuprofen if you need it is bad or anything but there is evidence of problems in athletes who vigorously workout and train while taking it. Also I don’t think most people workout vigorously enough for myoglobin to cause kidney problems. Just something else to keep in mind for people that do..
I just remember looking into taking Flexiril after working out, a muscle relaxer I have had prescribed for my back from my problems from injuries in the past. I wanted to be sure that my muscles would heal properly if I took it AFTER working out on occasion if I needed. I wouldn’t take it before for obvious reasons. It lead me to read some articles and studies of Ibuprofen and exercise. Like I said though, I don’t know much about it but thought it might be some useful info for someone to research if they take it regularly and also exercise a lot.

My personal choice would be to rest for a few weeks until you get clearance or can work yourself back up with no issues. The strength loss would be minimal to the problems that can happen from not letting injuries heal. Tendinitis can be a b**** and can cause chronic problems that may delay your progress a lot or completely. Also do some investigating on ibprofin while working out. I know studies have shown that it can cause problems and injury because it blocks prostaglandins and you need those to repair after working out/running also. These studies were done in runners and I don’t know too much it to say one way or another. Also heavy working out or chronic over exercise can lead to excess myoglobin in the blood stream and can cause kidney damage if there’s too much. This combined with ibuprofen which already is bad for the kidneys isn’t good.

I’m not giving any advice except to rest. If you have to take ibuprofen because your in pain, you shouldn’t be doing things that can exacerbate it. I am paying for not letting an old injury heal. It’s been a slower process then it would have been had I took a break and then continued when I healed. I have also taken longer breaks and the strength came back a lot quicker then the first time and I even noticed I could do things easier then before. I also gained some flexibility. A few weeks to a month or so of rest isn’t that long compared to half a year or more of chronic issues.

Yes what Tropicalpole said. Depends on the type of sit too. I would say take a pic or post a vid but you need to let your skin heal!

Yeah don’t use that. Get someone over to help you get it down it. I bought that same pole as a cheap alternative for a second pole (45mm vs my other 50mm xpole). They never claimed to be X pole but I bought it off amazon. I knew it was garbage right away. It would loosen if I spun a certain way on static, the dome seal sucked and it got almost bowed looking in the middle. It fell with me on it one time. I almost went through my plasma tv.. Get your lil minx cut if possible or buy a better and safer brand pole.

  • I have always had this problem to. I even bought a powder coated after T/G and I still have to use a lot of grip aid ,most of the time. I agree that a warm pole is a friendly pole lol. itac sucks. It works good for my legs and body but only when it is applied on the pole unless I’m sweaty. My new fave is firm grip spray on the pole then using dry hands to top it off. Still have issues sometimes but not near as much. At least with my body. Hands can be an issue still but the dry hands and firm grip spray is my new fave. I have tried mighty grip, ,shave gel, itac, alcohol, dry hands and firm grip. I have used stainless steal poles, chrome, titanium gold, powder coated and brass. I like powder coated and brass the best. Brass works really good with my body chemistry I think but haven’t used it enough to make a definite answer. Also if you use a fan, that helps. I have also taken my blow dryer to my pole to get it extra warm.

I tell everyone lol. I’m like a Poleholawitness lmao. I feel like you shouldn’t hide things that you are not ashamed of. Besides how else are we gonna bring the joy of pole to others who may not have even thought about it, or the people that think it just a stripper thing. I can understand hesitation though, depends on the mind of the person your telling. I would probably refrain telling some narrow minded conservative who wouldn’t think about it as anything other then sinful or exotic to avoid argument (because i will tell it how it is haha), but ya never know, you could change someones perception 🙂

If money wasn’t an issue, I would probably take 2 a day and do some freebies as well. I would hate to book too much and be too fatigued or sore to really get the most out of it. Depends on my energy level though. I will sometimes pole for hours and other times i’ll do maybe 20-30 minutes lol.

Just wanted to say that I will also be attending my first pole expo this year!!! Eeek! I’m excited. I only booked 3 workshops because of money issues. I plan on doing a lot of the free stuff as well. I will be there the 4th in the morning until the late day on the 7th.

    I am taking
Doubles Pole Friday @1pm -Minadia Duo
Intermediate and Advanced Entrances & Exits Saturday @10:15am -Chris Measday
And All things Handsprings Sunday @10:30 -Charlee Shae Wagner

I hope to see a lot of you there!! I am meeting up with a few people already but message me if you want to meet up if time and schedules allow. Is anyone else taking the same workshops? I am taking Doubles with Stiletto Jeau and the handsprings with her as well.
