Whoops KOTONICA shoes, not Kontonica… duh

Still, the carpet wasn't really what I was going for so one day I saw a box of laminate flooring at a thrift store and voila! I bought a cheap little saw and cut the hole for the middle, that was the most difficult part. I fit the pieces together and used duct tape to tape non-slip rug underlay to the bottoms, fit both pieces around the pole and using pretty gold duct tape taped the edges together tightly. This works perfectly! I have a tiny little dance floor around my pole and carpet past that so I can do spins but it's a soft landing and I can do floorwork on the carpet! The whole project cost less than $25. Yea!

I just can't resist this one. The whole reason that I knew that pole was for me was that I inverted the very FIRST TIME I ever touched a pole.
My friend had a Sexy Party at a dance studio, it was fun, a dozen girls taking turns learning moves.
The instructor thought I'd poled before. I haven't really gotten very far since then, but I have a pole and I use it to dance, for excercise and fun. I have a bad knee so I can use the pole to balance.
Even if I am a beginner forever, I love to pole dance!

I had this beautiful laminate flooring installed just a few months ago. It was really great for dance, but it was really loud and I live next door to a Marmaduke sized dog, and the walls are thin.
Then, accidentally, I had a small flood in my townhouse, it ruined a good part of the floor, making dancing on it not doable.
I got a deal on a huge plush rug with a 1/2 inch pad, it is great for dancing barefoot and the sound problem is almost nil.
Shoes with any grip however are a no go. Very frustrating because, in some ways I think I love the shoes just as much as the dance. I tried the tape but found it would just roll, I even bought the best tape that I could find at Home Depot, and still had the same problem.
I experimented on a cheaper pair of shoes. First I tried to wear them down on concrete, still not smooth enough for spins. So then I used a callous scrapper and went to town, a little better, but not what I was looking for. Finally, I got Krazy Glue and coated the bottoms. Bingo! Nice and smooth.
The next time I do this to a pair of shoes, however I will protect the sides with tape for any run down because I did get glue on the sides of the shoe (not a huge deal, it is clear) Also, if you do this be careful because when not on the carpet these shoes are not super slickery and dangerous.
I had to use an entire container of Krazy Glue for each shoe sole. I find it sold at the dollar store.
Happy Spinnin' 🙂

Whoops, shoe sole, not soul. Oh, I dunno, maybe my shoes do have a bit of soul 😉

Stay strong, we are here, and kick some butt!
I can't wait to see it. You should be very proud.

I have this condition. I am a massage therapist, lots of repetitve movement. Additionally, I hyperextend my elbows. I find the best remedy is massage, massage, and rest. It hurts, a little to massage the area, but it relieves the pain after.
Good luck!

A nature pole, awesome!

I like eyeliner. After years of looking for what I wanted in an one I finally found it at Target. The brand is "elf" and it is called a "waterproof eyeliner pen". It is awesome, stays on, doesn't annoy me and I bought it for $1.

Well it sure is sweet that he got the pole for you, but you gotta step it up.
Intallation is the key, when my pole finally got erected correctly I was so happy. I still am, just thinking about the work that went into getting the thing into my cozy little home really inspires me.
My only regret is not using it when I had the audience.
One big piece of advice girls, if you have a guy and he wants you to dance for him…
just DANCE!

I have a super wobbly knee, I "broke" it a few years back and don't have the insurance or the money to fix it. I can't run, I can walk but if I step wrong, woah daddy, I could be out for weeks. The great thing about the pole is I can use it to balance myself.
I also have rheumatoid arthritis and scoliosis. I find that stretching on the pole helps my back and just moving in general helps my arthritis.
