Hi.  Last summer I was about the same weight but still wanted to pole!  I'm also turning 29 in a few months.  Granted I've done other things and changed my eating habits, but I've lost weight while poling.  I feel sooo much more confident about myself and my fiance can see little improvements in my body (more toned, etc).  Just give it a try and lots of time (it takes getting used to the bruises!).  I'm always so amazed at myself when I get a new move.  It seems to take me longer than your average poler but I don't care.  I also don't do it quite as much 🙂  It just makes those victories so much more sweeter!

I completely agree with poledanceromance.  I'm in HR (in Canada mind you, unsure of American laws) but that is some severe harassment & discrimination.  Keep a detailed log of everything that happens.  Pictures, etc.  Whatever you need to back yourself up.  You know they say…CYA…cover your ass!

I'm terribly sorry to hear about your working conditions.  Nobody deserves that.  Please keep us updated on what happens.  I am very interested in this.

Hi I just saw your messages now, sorry!  I found one about 2-3 months ago and been happily spinning since!  But thanks for reaching out to me.

I use some random program on my laptop.  The only issue is that my laptop is old and slow as molassas!  But it works for what I want it for.  I wish I had something a little easier though.  I don't know how to edit the videos.

Hi, sorry I didn't get notification of your reply!

I see someone else wants the teal shorts.  What if I took 3 and she took 1?  Just a thought.  Then it's hopefully still one trip to the post office.

    Hi!

Do happen to know how much shipping to Canada would be?  My SVC shorts are starting to pull at the bum seam (my fiance says it's because I bend too much…not because my bum is too big.  Gotta love him).

Ugh, sorry.  My computer is killing me here.

Darn it.  I had this whole email typed out and my computer froze!

In a nutshell…don't give up!  Try out Veena's conditioning exercises for just a month and see what a difference that can make.  Everyone learns at different paces.  After 4 days, be happy you haven't slipped off the pole! lol

Good luck!  Celebrate the small victories!

Absolutely without a doubt work on Veena's strength lessons!  When I first started poling (albeit without injuries) I had zero upper body strength and could barely do a pole hold for 2 seconds.  While I'm still nowhere near where I want to be (also a lack of motivation sometimes) I'm doing a lot better.  Slow and steady.  You'll get there.  Everyone progresses differently.  My tiny little 5' nothing, 90lb soaking wet friend did an invert at her first pole party!  It took me months.

Keep at it for a bit.  After 4 days, just be happy you're not slipping off.  Try it for a month.  Build up to it.  You'll be surprised at what a difference a few weeks make.

    Good luck!!

My friend would show me all of those videos when I started out!  I bought an x-pert, used.  It's been fantastic so far.  My fiance asks me about twice a week if it feels ok!  He will tighten it for me quite regularly, just in case.
