Hello loopielou ( hope thats spelt correct).
The boots are good for gripping with ankles and for friction for climbing,but as far as the soles go,theyre not that grippy.
My little boy like his rock climbing shoes for the pole as they have grippy feet.
mind you i would be tempted to spray the soles with stickum,but I havent actually tried it.

Yes I had a good lesson,back on Thursday.
Yes Emma had no problems with camera,it was Emma who asked me to go into the lesson and take pics whilst emma helped get her into position.
Should have already moved,but solicitors and mortgage company going so slow.We were flooded so theres been extra paperwork!

I have some boots,but I got them online as i need leather due to flat feet,bunions ect!!!sounds really bad i know! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_redface.gif I got them from sugar rays they were reduced,as theyre brown.
I have some pvc platform boots at home,which grip really well.
I invested in a cheap £10 pair of new stripper shoes off ebay.They are really tall,I feel like ive stepped off a really high kerb when I take them off! I was ok with it,but I used to get down going ouch!ouch!with my hands between my legs for ages.It used to make me sweat a bit,but I prefered it to trying to invert.
Some girls could invert and do nice leg extension,which I still cant do,also Im the only one who couldnt invert on my wrong side.Still cant!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_pale.gif

My little boy cant get his legs round the pole,he can invert really easy and he can do that move where you are horizontal across the pole.I will never ever be able to do that. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cry.gif
We all must have our particular strengths and weaknesses.
But at least with pole there is enough variety for everyone!!!!

Does Lisa get you to do it from a climb??
I COULDNT DO IT FROM A CLIMB,SO I USED TO PULL MYSELF UP THE POLE AND CROSS MY LEGS IMMEDIATELY,THAT WAY I COULD GET RIGHT INTO THE POLE.Sorry about the caps didnt notice!
Not very smooth probably,but when your legs are more used to it,you could go back to climb.

when you are doing sitting on the pole this week take a deep breath first and chant in your head Im gonna do this,Im gonna do this!!!!!
See it as the gateway to all those advanced moves, which it is!

just read your message again, I think I misunderstood you.You are already inverting into a crucifix?Were you were asking when we do advanced moves like the gemini?
By the time we got to level five we were doing lay backs,I think we were practising for the Gemini too,but we were still doing climbing the pole to a seated,then V legs,which doesnt hurt thighs,into the dreaded thigh hold.By putting them all together,increasing our strenght.

By level 5 my group had changed completely from people leaving and putting us together with others.We ended up with a really compatable group.
It will get really tough soon,we repeated level 5 twice and level 9 twice,and im sure we repeated another one.
I know they have changed how they teach,when I left I was on level 9,now i’ve been put on level 6 i think.So at level 6 im doing Butterfly,Gemini into a inverted thigh hold which is much more painfull than the seated,which will prepare you for this.Gemini into a Angel,Gemini into a starfish,Layback without putting hands on floor.
What are the other girls in your group like,are they good or very unfit like me.Have any left yet.

we never did handstands,we had to learn how to invert by kicking up.I think they’ve realised that’s not a good idea for everyone and have changed how they teach. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_exclaim.gifA lot of people in our level dropped out because they had trouble or didnt like inverting.I was the second to last to actually manage it in our group,my friend was last.Perhaps theyre trying for not so many people to leave.Im sure we were trying to invert for level 3. However if you’re really desperate to try I would see if you and knickers could afford a one to one session between you,have a chat with Lisa see if on a private lesson she will teach you to invert.If not!I would ring Jill at Dance dynamics for a one to one with her,tell her you want to learn to invert,crucifix,leg variations ect.

Thankyou both,youre so kind! I had a better lesson today I actually did a Butterfly on my own twice(was shaking like a jelly though).Could never do it before because as soon as id inverted I used to move my hands to the wrong position. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif She tried to teach me a starfish?(never heard of it) from a gemini.It was way too difficult she was supporting me for most if not all of it.Im supposed to practising,but my pole is surounded by boxes as were supposed to be moving house very soon,

From my instructor at pole4fitness that I have just rejoined.Went today and finally managed a Gemini on my own!!

thankyou youre very kind!I do sometimes put a Dvd on and practice with my son Luke,I had a lesson every week for 15months,but found it was getting too hard,then I didnt enjoy it anymore.I used to go home feeling fed up,so I stopped.
Ive had a five month break,then two weeks ago decided I would give it another go.
I keep getting into trouble for doing moves differently because Ive been watching Dvds ect https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cry.gif

Hiya,
I do lessons upstairs at the moment,but before we used to be downstairs all the time,thats where the pictures have been taken.I have always hated the gym,that said this year I was doing body pump at Haltemprice 3 or 4 times a week,then joined David lloyd and used a personal trainer to help with my core strenghth as well as doing body pump and other classes.
I dont think it helped,I stopped going when Luke broke up for hols,and dont know where to go now as we are moving to Wawne in a couple of weeks,I cancelled my membership at David Lloyd as they lied to me about what they will put on for kids over the holidays,they didnt do anything for Lukes age.I have tried Cannons in the past too,is that where your Dad works?
When I went to Dance Dynamics it was to learn to teach,so some weeks I had 7 classes,I was extremely tired at the end of that week,but I think a alot of it was nervous energy.They were all beginers so I didnt have a problem,but was concerned that I needed to be much better at the advanced things,so have left.Thats why I am back at Pole for Fitness.She does want me to go back,but I dont know!THAT IS TOP SECRET EMMA ,CLARE AND LISA DONT KNOW!!
I start my gym instructors course in November,I should have started ETM but they cancelled it as noone else was booked,and I couldnt switch over as Gym instructors course was full.I have approached David Loyd about teaching there,and Riverview as they use club girls for their lessons.
There is a new POLE STUDIO opening soon owned by pleasure poles.
I knew straight away that I wanted to teach pole.It will be a long journey,but it took me nearly 4 years to get my Diploma in Childrens Nursing,thats life.
