Woohoo! Well done Roxy!!

Hi Jenn – the scorpio with your hands on the ground I think is known as the "scorpio handstand", then you can swing your extended leg around to give you momentum to spin out of it, again – I absolutely *love* that move!! One of my faves – dunno why!!

SissyBuns I’m a total freak with which sides are dominant for things. Some spins are better on my L.H.S, some on right. Then I invert with my right hand inside to the pole, but all my holds used to be the other way (like superman, knees etc.) so I could not do them from inverted easily – I’d have to swap around and it would be a pain. So, I learned them on the other side – now I’m worse at them on the side I used to do them on. My dominant handspring then is the wrong way round – if I mount the pole with it, it’s on the opposite side that I usually would be if I inverted normally!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif
Trena, I too am slowly and steadily trying to be confident with everything on both sides too. I didn’t do it from the start tho either. Wish I had!!

yes I would be a fan of both sides too, although I do find some moves tricky – aysha and reverse caterpillar and those elbow/forearm grip ones – my body just does not know what to do when I try them on the other side!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif i’m working on it though! glad to hear that there’s other who feel the same!

oh lord I want to be able to do the "lola mount"!!!

I want to get more flexible too! Months ago I was doing side splits on one side but not the other. Then I started a training regime to even it up. Horrors though – I went too quickly on my less flexible side, and popped my hip out of it’s socket!! It cracked very loudly – a girl in the gym who was listening to her iPod heard it through her music and looked horrified – and then it popped back in! Very scary. It’s been 4 months and I still have a dull ache. I am absolutely afraid to do splits on *either* side any more!!
I can certainly testify to the practise of easing oneself into it! Gonna start training for flexibility again, but aiming for *very* slow progress this time!

Thanks for the reply guys!
That’s interesting info, SissyBuns. I’d better start trying to give up the coffee!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_thumbdown.gif
