Mystical, I will ask Madeline if she will travel for private lessons and let you know. She is an awesome teacher.

Great to know there’s a pole studio in Heber. It is closer to Evanston than SLC.

The Evanston Rec Center has beginning and intermediate pole classes. We have an instructor named Madeline who will do private and group lessons for more advanced work. In SLC, there are pole studios, JW and others. Madeline will start her intermediate and advanced lessons in Evanston in the fall. Also, Danna has a pole studio in Riverton and she has online classes.

I totally understand. If you can climb with ease and do a pull-up, you are strong enough to invert. I am working on the basic invert slowly, starting from the floor and using a spotter. I found doing laybacks helps that fear, especially when you move one hand to hold under your body on the pole. Another thing to remember is the basic invert requires lots of leg strength and your legs hold your body up all day long.

I turn 51 this year and my main pole partner is 54. We have a group with an instructor who is 34 and 2 other ladies in their 20’s. I teach beginning pole and I think because of my age, women who are closer to me in age feel more willing too come to class, especially when I tell them the benefits to me of pole like strength and weight loss. I know what you mean though and feel lucky to have some polers my age.
