I have pocket pole on my ipad. Love it. I bought the more expensive one. Great videos. Really a bargain compared to what we pay for in videos.

A while back, someone here posted about a male poler named remi martin. Search this name on youtube and you will find his male pole performances. Really great stuff : )

I believe it is smart to be cautious. I love tricks but constantly ask myself,  "But what is the alternative should something go wrong?"  So I try to take it slow and make sure I have a super grip on the pole while inverting before doing something more dangerous. For example, I am now taking it slowly to go into gemini…stay there and then reach back and grab the free leg. This scares me because I am taking my hands off the pole. I am working on freeing up both hands and reaching back. I tell myself, there are lots of beautiful, fun moves to practice and get in a good workout without putting myself in danger. But the tricks are super fun! Sometimes, I don't really care about the workout….I just want to have fun twirling around upside down.  So I tell myself, "Twirl all you want but make sure you have a tight grip."

I recently received a stainless steel 50mm from Platinum Stages and am very happy with it.

Congratulations. You're right, a new pole is fun that the rest of the world just doesn't understand.

While learning and practicing Superman, it was all awkward and painful.  Eventually, it just happened. Now I can do it pretty easily. As I previously posted, I am now working on a graceful way to get out of it. I can now flip over from a side V, pretty easily and then…..I pose…..can bend one leg for beauty…..and then "stuck." I think the notion of letting my hips further drop as I first do a "v" split before flipping over may help me in lowering my hips and going into a Dove. I think some people call it figurehead. I got "Dove" stuck in my brain Maybe both descriptions are used. Anyway,  I like reading these posts to learn how others are getting in and out of Superman : )

    I love this topic.

Organic Angel – I agree with you about sleep! I would also like to add that I am a big vitamin taker. I find vitamins to be very important to how I feel and look.

Hookedonpole, I too really want to do handstands against the pole! I can do headstands…..so I think, "Come on, it's just the same in a handstand only with lengthening your arms. But, my body isn't cooperating with my brain on that one…..for the moment.

New lessons from Veena sounds exciting. I am new and am having fun with the ones already posted.

I love this topic. I am also working on: twisted grip handspring (Exciting progress.  I really want to master this move. I will be a SuperWoman once I can do it! Some days I can handspring up, open legs in "V" and hold it a few seconds. Feels great. I can feel the balance and spring in my body. And other days, my lower body feels very heavy and I fumble around getting up in the air and slamming down immediatly.  But getting better.) Also working on extended butterfly. This move is a toughie for me. I think I am doing it and then watch the playback on my camera and my legs are not right. And finally, Aysha! I love doing it. I love the look of it. It is starting to become a move that I can do all the time. Now I am working on holding the pose longer. Next will progress to doing more with my legs in the pose. But right now, I can hold it : )

I have never competed. I am in awe of those who have. Those who participate in competitions, whether they make it to finals or not, whether they win in a category  or not, are strong and inspirational.

I would not like for anyone to touch me without telling me so and doing it in a cooperative manner WITH my consent.  That does not sound like a good experience. I have worked with instructors on stretching and pole moves. They guided me. I did more because of their encouragement and cooperation. No one forced or grabbed anything. I think you are right in wondering, "Don't think I am liking this?"

Someone posted "Pocket Pole." Yes! I have that too. Great app. Great value. I watch and then keeping clicking/freezing the video to learn how to do a move. I learned Allegra from Pocket Pole, but still struggling with smoothing it out and not getting stuck on the pole in a twisted clump.
