This is what I started doing:

I plan my workouts for the entire week on either sunday or monday:

I’ll choose one of Veena’s 30 day programs (even if you can invert, it’s great to do the 30 day invert again because each time you get so much stronger)

So I’ll start with a 20 minute warm up (change them up, there’s many to choose from in the lessons!) Once A week I’m using the pole strength routine as my warmup and upping reps as needed.

Then I will take 3-4 moves from the lessons in order and work on them, for harder moves I plan on working on that same move throughout the week a few different times and keep it in rotation until I feel it’s mastered. I’ll do each move 3-4 times each side before moving to the next.

I also choose either one of veena’s dance routines or freestyle for a few min at the end of each pole session and end in some stretching.

My workouts tend to be about an hour long and I use Wednesday and Saturday as full rest days and Sundays for me are focused only on flexibility.

Hope this helps as I had a similar confusion too

So this is a quick video of my attempt.

I practice from the floor and my positioning seems fine but then inverted it seems off

Now I think I may have double subscribed somehow haha

Was thinking my subscription ran out and so I paid again to see if that fixed it and still when I click the lessons it prompts me to subscribe.

I also go to Prowess and love it. The first studio took classes at was Pussycats. It's not that there is anything wrong with that studio, Nyla is an amazing instructor/dancer and a lot of fun however what that studio offered wasn't what I was looking for. Nyla focuses on more of the sensual side of the dance while at Prowess I feel like I have advanced more and learned more tricks/flexibility. Pussycats is a much slower pace and more expensive. Lindsay at Prowess is an incredible instructor though and I absolutely love going to that studio 🙂

I have a 45mm titanium gold xpole and I love it! When I moved out here I bought a chrome and I was always slipping, once I switched to TG it was like night and day

@capfeb do you take the intermediate classes at prowess? I’m coming back next month it’d be fun to know someone in class 🙂 I’m trying to get this move too! I’ve got the flexibility for it just trying to figure out getting into it

Thank you so much 🙂 I will try to play around with hand placement next time I practice and see what happens

  • I started pole dancing about a year and a half ago and have pretty much stayed at the same weight, however there is a HUGE difference I noticed in how my body looks now compared to when I started. I recently rewatched a video from my very first pole class and compared it to where I'm at now and the difference is pretty amazing. I have muscles that I never had before and feel SO much better about myself.

I finally joined a gym to help me get more tone and start focusing on getting my body fat percentage down to 15% (currently at 30% :() and trying to eat cleaner and cut soda out of my diet. Someone told me about the Myfitnesspal app and I started using that too, not so much to "count calories" but I found that when I hold myself accountable to writing down everything that I'm eating, it makes me rethink eating junk foods. 🙂

  • Thank you everyone for your advice 🙂 I am feeling much better about giving it a go. i guess it's a learning experience for any new exotic dancer. Everyone experiences their first night, I'm sure my first night will be uncomfortable and a little awkward but hopefully that will fade over time haha

  • Thank you so much that was incredibly helpful 🙂 My nerves have been getting the best of me. I am worried too about giving lapdances as I have never done this before. I figure guys aren't really going notice if I mess up too bad but it still makes me nervous.
