To clarify, yes book to the ground and eventually to a pole sit.

I do a bit of both when I teach. Since I teach really small classes, I personalize it to whatever the background is, or try both and see how they respond. Sometimes I use a combination, I don't just count the numbers, but substitute more descriptive words. "Inside, Outside, Back to the pole…"

Welcome aboard! Definitely get the lessons. The full year is the best value BY FAR and is not automatically recurring. The 1 or 2 month options will automatically renew every 1 or 2 months unless you go into your paypal account and cancel the subscription. By the way, you can cancel the subscription at any time and not lose the time you have paid for. Example: If you buy the 30 day option you can cancel the subscription in paypal the same day and still have 30 days of lesson access. That way you don't have to keep track of the days you have left.
And yes, as a beginner you will likely have little to no grip and very little upper body strength (unless you have done other activities that train those areas), but don't worry Veena's lessons start right at the very beginning and will help you to build up gradually. She has a lot of variety of lessons too, stretching, pole moves, conditioning, hoop, foam rolling, and even lap dance! You can go into the lesson section and see the variety and quantity of lessons available without buying them too, you just can't actually watch them. 🙂
Good luck with your journey and feel free to post as many questions as you have, you can also try searching your questions on the site and finding answers in old threads. Don't get discouraged, pole dancing isn't easy, but if you stick with it you have so much to gain.

I agree with Chemmie, I have had Many jobs where I was the only woman or one of very few women. Don’t take it personally at this point, there are many reasons they could be acting strange or uncomfortable and more than likely they are just not used to having a woman around. Just be yourself and do the best job you Can do. Give them a chance to get to know you, and vice-versa. 🙂 They will adapt and you will probably make some friends. But just like Any workplace You won’t get along with everyone all the time. If you don’t make gender an issue then most others won’t either.
Good luck with your new job. I hope you enjoy it and get that new SV pole, l want one too! 🙂 -
How often do you pole? Make sure you are taking rest days between your workout days. You may even want to take a few days in a row off to see if I gets better, it sounds like an overuse injury to me. Icing and stretching are good in the meantime

Crucifix-Caterpillar-Butterfly-Flatline Scorpio – Scorpio hand stand-Spin dismount
How exactly do you get into an outside leg hang from shoulder mount?
-
First time I tried butterfly on spin. No mats as I considered it mastered, at least on static. Stupid Newton and his laws, he pulled my hands right off the pole and I fell straight down, tucked my head and landed on my shoulder. Hurt like hell but nothing was damaged except my pride.

Maybe you could try a pair of mighty grip gloves. It may give you just a little help so you don’t have to squeeze as hard and will ease the pressure On your hands. I love my full fingered non-tacky gloves for static pole. I bought them for a sweaty hands issue, but they might help you too. 🙂

I dream of stretching and being able to do splits…not quite what you meant I know but it's the closest I've got! 🙂 Good luck with going crazy, I live there full-time, it's quite nice. 😛

I'm not sure if this will help you or not. I have fingerless tacky gloves as well, and adore them on those no grip days or for spinning pole work. I recently purchased full fingered gloves but the non-tacky ones for static pole work so that I can still spin. I really like the full fingered gloves, I was worried that the fingers would be way too long like all other gloves I've ever worn (winter, work, etc) but they aren't that bad. Slightly too long, but comfortable and completely manageable. I think I would really like the full fingered version of the tacky ones better than the fingerless ones I have.

Hey thanks, I'll give them a call!

It looks to me like a shoulder mobility issue. for a true forearm stand (with your head off the ground) you have to be able to really open Your shoulders more. However, if there is Very little pressure on your head as you say, then that is a great headstand. So congrats on that. I suggest you try a different hand/arm position though. There are two variations you might find helpful.
For a headstand when you start on your hands and knees place your hands about shoulder width apart but closer to your body then where your head will sit. Make a triangle on the floor with your hands and head at the corners. lift up the Same way you did in your video. Your elbows should be over your wrists and bent at approx 90 degrees.
For a forearm stand variation try starting in the same position EXCEPT instead of forearms facing forward With palm down, try bringing the hands together. make a fist with one hand (pinky finger down) and wrap the other hand around it. This will sit at the back of your head. (You can also try cupping your hands against the back of your head.) When you lift, do NOT allow your elbows to come off the ground. This requires a little less Shoulder mobility than the version you tried. But if your elbows lift, you will need to work on your flexibility, that area.
Also, I suspect that you do have enough strength to do a handstand. Have you tried a reverse handstand by walking you feet up a wall or pole? If you’re still afraid (which is normal) get out some pillows, Couch cusions and a friend to help spot you. you can do it! -
My pole room (with 2 chrome 45's) is the livingroom of my house. Both the front and back doors, open into it. I've never been in the pole "closet", and I don't care what anyone thinks. 🙂 They stay up for family visits, repairmen, salesmen, and anyone else who might come to my door. I often answer the door in my cute little SVC shorts. haha
When I only had one pole, I would just push the sofa out of the way when I wanted to pole. Before I could get the second pole we had to renovate and finish the basement so that we would have a rec room as well as a pole room. 🙂
