First of all: people on the internet are weird. xD
As for the hashtag – I’m with you.
While I don’t know any strippers personally (never been to a strip club… yet.), I follow a few of them on instagram and mostly love their pics and videos. And I just read a book ( http://www.jacqthestripper.com/the-beaver-show/ ) by one of them and loved it. Maybe it’s because I’m so much in my “pole bubble”, but I just don’t see anything negative with strippers, quite the opposite, I’m thankful that they made pole what it is today.
And I absolutely love the sexy side of pole and my heels and glittery costumes…#wishIwasastripper π

That sounds really expensive. OO I guess it’s because they need another venue, but still… I think it’s odd that you as the performers are expected to pay so much for the venue.
I danced at the 5-year-birthday-party of my studio, but it was free (for everyone, attending and performing, with cake and all that stuff) and inside the studio itself. There were about 70 people attending and 7 performing. But we didn’t take/get any private lessons (at least I didn’t, I pretty much freestyled 60% of my song and just met with a two of the other performing girls two days before at home to practice our “routines” xD).
So, I second what Allyson says, get everything in writing and ask any questions you might have.

https://www.studioveena.com/photos/view_photo/551b2ad9-6370-434a-90d6-24030a9aa0eb Day 31 π Finally one on the actual challenge day (well more or less, it’s after midnight here, but still March in America… xD).
Taken after an hour of back stretching. I’m not very good at this yet (I think it’s more the hip flexors than the back), but I really do want to improve it. π
Allyson, love yours, such a nice background. π

Looks like fun. π
Probably not gonna really participate – by now I guess you know how bad I am with this “do something every day” stuff*… xD But I’m gonna let this inspire me and do as many as I can manage. π
*I hope this will get better as it gets warmer, I’m just too lazy to warm my pole up every day so I don’t slide down. So I always think “ok, I’ll do two tomorrow, or three” and yeah, 2 weeks later the challenge is over and I still didn’t do a thing. xD

Ahem… Little bit of catch up.

Was feeling waaaay too dead yesterday for things like Eros or Allegra… Janeiro and Closed Scorpio are still a big “nope”. xD And for the others I need to revisit the lessons. Well, I can do a reverse grab, but it’s not pretty.

Oooooh pretty, can’t wait to see them in action. π Happy Birthday! π

Wow, that’s some really awesome progress! *.* Congrats!! π

https://www.studioveena.com/lessons/view/5468f819-cf9c-4329-a1b4-3bd70a9aa0eb Day 11 – I tried it. xD Not very successfully. But at least I tried. Γ°ΕΈΛβ *sigh* such a pretty move, but I guess I’m not really ready for it yet. Need to bring my chest more towards the floor, so I can hold myself with the lower arm a bit better.
Ballerina will follow. I can do a twisted Ballerina just fine, but the regular ballerina feels so wrong… Need to try that too a few times before I can post it. xD

Day 12 – Three types of cobra: https://www.studioveena.com/photos/view_photo/55034e63-bbe0-4634-b91f-1b9d0a9aa0eb
Day 11 (Dragonstail) and 13 (Bow and Arrow) have to wait, I just wasn’t sticking to the pole today, at all… Haven’t tried dragonstail yet, maybe if I have a really good day I’ll try it tomorrow (open training, so tons of spotters and people who already can do it xD). I do have some old videos of bow and arrow, I love that trick, but I wanted to take a new one for the challenge, so that too will follow tomorrow. π

I finally got around to film myself doing the challenge and I made an album for pictures. π Day 5-7 will follow tomorrow, I’m really looking forward to the marley, it’s one of my absolute favourite moves. π

The endresult is the same, but the way of achieving it is different. Handspring is from the floor kicking (or deadlifting, if you’re strong enough, but I guess then it’s a Deadlift xD) upwards. Ayesha: you’re already on the pole going into the Ayesha from a different trick (like inverted crucifix).
So my definition is: Handspring is the movement from the floor kicking up into the ayesha. And the Ayesha is the trick you do when the Handspring is done and you’re upside down. π So Handspring is just a different method to get into the Ayesha.
