If you expand the adjuster too much there will be less spin. You might have it too tight to your ceiling.

@twilsonobe: I will private message you. Maybe I can help you out with a pole.

Most people go with 45mm. 40mm is better for hand grip but worse for leg grip and the 50mm is the opposite. The 45 is good for everything. If I were you I would get a pole that has spin and static. They are both so much fun and it’s go to switch it up. If you tend to have dry skin/hands you might like chrome or TG. If you sweat you will like brass. From least grippy to most grippy: stainless steel, chrome, TG, brass, powder coated. Do you want a new pole or used?

The finish of the pole determines how much grip you will have with your skin.

No you don’t need to get two unless you want to. The portable one come apart into multiple pieces that can be reassembled wherever you just keep in mind it’s ceiling height limits which you pick when you buy it. The removable ones tend to be one long piece so those are not very portable for what you want to do. A popular removable one is lil minx poles. You will also want to consider the finish (type of metal or coating) on the pole. Depending on your type of skin (dry or if you sweat a lot) you will want a particular type of finish.

You should get a removal and portable pole like an x-pole. It comes in pieces which makes it portable. It is bottom loading so there is a dome on top of the pole which is placed under a beam in your ceiling. The bottom part of the pole turns so you can tighten the pole between the floor and the ceiling. You don’t have to screw anything into your ceiling.

I have the tacky mighty grip gloves. It’s like fly paper on the TG lol. Do you typically have dry or moist hands? I looked up that lotion and it’s meant for dry skin/callus. I don’t know if that would work for me. I don’t want to make the problem worse. I don’t have dry hands or calluses on my palms. I typically don’t even have to use lotion. My skin is never really dry

My hands get moist in minutes after using dry hands or mighty grip. I have less grip using them which is weird. My hands in general are moist/clammy. After every move I have to wipe my hands on my shorts otherwise I can’t do anything. Its worse with TG than I experienced with chrome. It’s so frustrating sometimes.

@PolarGirl: I just ordered tite grip and new gloves. If that doesn’t work I will probably have to sell it for a brass pole as well. I hope I won’t have to tho. The pole sweating is annoying.

The environment aspect is definitely a factor. I think is a combo of environment and sweaty hands. I’ve been doing RG spins on it right after I got it and I didn’t slip but yesterday it was cold and it felt like there was some moisture in the air which was different from the other days. That combined with a warm sweaty hand equaled condensation and slippage. I was using my space heater but I guess it didn’t really make it warm enough in the room. I wonder if a warm dehumidifier would make a difference with a hand antiperspirant product.

Your comments are very helpful. Thank you. I guess I just need to do something about my sweaty hands. The pole is great everywhere else and I realize I don’t really sweat too much on my body. Maybe I’ll get some tite grip and tite grip gloves. I just see it as another challenge to beat!

Did you have the slick issue all over your body or just your hands?

I’m so close to getting a cup grip shoulder mount i can taste it. When I started poling in feb of this year I tried it and I thought it would be impossible for me to ever get that. It’s almost weird to see a change so fast but it makes me so happy. And I have visible external obliques for the first time in my life 🙂
