I’m coming from a background of literally nothing to do with sport, dance, or gymnastics, but I’m GREAT at lying down and sitting on a sofa!!! It takes so much time, practice, and belief to achieve greater flexibility, but when I started to see personal progress (measured by me and not some of the amazing super flexy pole girls!) it felt, and feels wonderful!
One day we will achieve splits and all manner of ridiculous body contortions π until then let’s take immense pleasure and pride in those millimetres gained!! It all counts!

Pole gets me back to myself… Nothing else exists, nothing else matters, connecting with the body is so pure, aware, and honest. When times got really hard for me, the last thing I wanted was to connect with myself, but when I started to see light at the end of the tunnel, spinning myself around that pole started pushing me forwards! So sorry to hear about your hard times, much love for your healing journey!

Hee hee I love this!! My boyfriend hasn’t tried yet, despite my encouragement… I think he’s scared that it will prove that I’m stronger than he is!!

WOW! Crucifix in your first lesson- amazing!! Sooo pleased you’ve got the pole bug, you’ll be butterflying in no time!
I have tiny hands too, I started on 50’s in class and never even realised that 45 existed! I have to say that on a 45 my hand grip is much stronger, but I personally like to try what I’m least comfortable with, get good at that and you’ll be able to do anything! Happy poling! π

Great idea! My instinct tells me that you will probably see a difference between the two… I’d be interested to hear what you find out! Gem x
