I am lucky enough to have very good health insurance so I had LOTS of treatment starting with physical therapy that included exercises, electrical stim and massage. I had an MRI done that showed there was no tear. My doc recommended resisted stretching next. Then he sent me to another doctor who did myofascial release and then acupuncture with electrical stim. None of these treatments made any difference. The doctor finally did two rounds of prolotherapy which is an injection of dextrose to the site to try to irritate and make it heal. I believe the second injection actually started to make it heal and then shortly after that I started MAT which is muscle activation technique. I think the combination of these two things finally took care of it. I was shocked when I realized just a few weeks ago that it is pretty much gone. I was equally shocked that it took more than a year to heal and had pretty much given up hope. I only detail all of this in case the prolotherapy or MAT can be helpful to others. MAT seems really cool and I’m hoping the work they do will help me heal some other old injuries and improve my flexibility. More info about MAT here:
P.S. I hope yours heals much more quickly.

I’ve at least heard of it but haven’t joined and it sounds like just my crowd and lots of fun. I’m starting to run a little bit again. Maybe I’ll look into again.

It’s beautiful, enjoy!

Ditto on the volleyball attire being tiny as well as the body building. I recently saw the men’s bodybuilding competitors when I was at the Arnold–that was one teeny weeny bikini with a whole lot off ass showing–far less clothing than any of the pole competitors were wearing.

Oh. My. God. That was hilarious. I was scarfing down potato chips as I watched.
Thanks for sharing!

That looks great! I love the giant mirror. Keep us posted as it progresses.

I bought a GoPro for poling also and just end up using my phone. I don’t find the GoPro very intuitive, don’t like that there is no screen to see what you’re filming (although you can see it on your phone or ipad if linked) and the battery didn’t seem to last long. I’m sure if I applied myself it would work fine if not great but I just find the phone so much easier.

I wasn’t pole dancing when I got mine done but I definitely did not have any pain six month postop with any activities including weight lifting. In fact I only took pain meds for two days–just wasn’t painful for me.
I don’t recall how long before I was allowed to lift weights, etc. as my surgery was nearly 10 years ago. I would just ask your surgeon and follow those instructions exactly. Good luck.

Polewalker, please do post pictures of your new pole room. I have fantasies about buying a house where I can make an entire aerial studio with pole, silks, lyra and trapeze!

Both are beautiful but I love the red!

Love it! Made me smile. My favorite was the guy in the wheelchair.
That hoop gets around…so to speak.
