@Shellectra – Yes! Ugh but I only do split stretches 3-4x/ week. Like chem, it’s been a goal of mine for 4 years but I really didn’t start trying till November. I do make a point to square my hips too. I need to try this 6 week daily thing!

Lol Shellectra! I’m where you are right now and I’ve been working hard on splits since November. lmao!

I tend to stay in a move anywhere bw 20-30 seconds during practice. I think its the yogi in me. Haha! I don’t really count but I also don’t up, do it, and come down right away. I also max out at 3 moves per combo.

Oops I meant 12″! Lol not 17″. Bikram is still good if your studio isn’t that strict with advanced moves.

@Enigma – you get used to the heat. And it’s best if you drink at least 500ml of water before class, then another 500ml during class. Most likely you were dehydrated. It happens! 🙂

As far as flexibility outside the hot room, its still there for the most part. I.e. My splits are 5-6″ from the ground without hot yoga. Then my splits are 4-5″ from the ground after I’m warmed up from hot yoga. With and without, I can place my palms flat on the ground in a forward bend.

Before hot yoga, I used to be 17″ from the ground and could barely touch so I can protest to real flexibility results! Lol

Hot yogas I prefer are core flow, vinyasa, and moksha for flexibility. Bikram didn’t open my hips as much, nor release my hamstrings as much.

PEER PRESSURE! LOL! My 2 friends went to an intro and wanted me to sign up with them. I ended up working the day of the intro, so I decided to sign up for pole dancing classes…. Blind. Dropped $480 on something I had no idea what I was in for. One friend stopped after 2 months, my other friend stopped at 4 months, then here I am. 4 years later. Hahaha!

Just adding, this program will be great, not just for instructors but even for polers who are looking to further themselves in their skills/techniques. 4 hours of pole and 4 hours of lecture, spread out each day. I may consider a future cert class from them, especially since I teach friends and cousins sometimes.

Very unprofessional. Sounds like she’s talking about X-Pole fall outs and down talking teachers with certifications. I sooo wanna go to her studio now! Lol

I thought an X-Pole never fully fell out, only Lil Mynx?

Lol, I’m the same with splits! For some reason i can do an almost pole split but on the floor, I’m so far away. SMH!

I’m convinced my shoulders are as tight as my hamstrings. You’re right about stretches. I asked my yoga studio’s owner and she showed me a couple.

You know what’s funny? This whole time I’ve been doing all 3 grips with 4 fingers together. Not a single instructor told me about GUN GRIP. Lol.

So today i try gun grip and I feel much more sturdier with elbow and split. Thank you, Veena and her lessons!

In order of preference, forearm grip, elbow grip, split grip. I'm still working on elbow to make it stronger. I could only do elbow once in a while at home. And with split, I'm too chicken to do it without knowing there's a spot to catch me. LOL! I could only do split at the studio. I guess b/c I push out a lot where my arms are a 90 degree angle. I do the same as chem, go into from extended butterfly, with the side of my knee touching the pole first, not my ankle. Then rotate. Balance is easier that way.

@dustbunny – I keep telling myself that. Lol! Set your gaze else where except THE FLOOR. But that floor just keeps staring at me. LOL! I do find it easier to do when I gaze at the mirror. Will try looking at my feet next time. Thanks!

Lol! Hardcore, girl! I can’t handle that. Doubles daily. I do doubles but spaced out a week between. -=X

Since you’re doing 4 now, you might as well sign up for a 5th and get the 6th one free. LOL!

That’s the ironic part. I think its either an old formula or the fakes they’re talking about somewhere.

I tried both and the 2nd one didn’t work for me, just made my hands sweatier and created little beads of sweat on my hands. The 1st one made them completely sweat-free. Also, the creams looked different in color and texture too.
