No aides on clothes. I tried poling with a full costume. It was hard because you def need to squeeze a lot more. I could only do split grip inverts and basic moves. Wouldn’t suggest inverting unless you feel really stable.

I'm addicted to stretching. I love the feeling in yoga. I love the feeling of that comfortable edge. Even the pain is love. Extra counter stretching after pole. Extra stretching the day after contortion. Stretch randomly in the car or sitting somewhere.

I once asked Karol at a party and she said they're MAGIC JEANS!!! LOL!!! J/K. Her and Jenyne both said you just squeeze harder… a lot harder.

I'm wearing their new Lila top and the Mikaela short in my profile pic. I'm loving it and it has nice coverage: sexy, not too much, not too little. Actually prefer the Mikaela over the Bad Kitty brazil short. Haven't tried the fold over yet though so can't compare. The Lila seems like it would work better than the Kila with larger boobs. Same style, more coverage and adjustable.

@https://www.studioveena.com/users/view/4f4c1281-a030-45e8-ac0f-5c0a0ac37250 – Yes!!! Squared splits during practice are a must. That's the best way to train so all your standing splits and splits on the pole are easily flattened. I've seen many pole stars that have the flattest jade, but when they're doing squared splits on the ground, they're also a couple inches off. It's a different feeling. Pressure on top of your hip vs pressure on groin.

Actively trying from April to October 2011. Got full splits on both sides within 6 months. Deep postures and deep stretching with Isaac Pena’s yoga classes 1x weekly, then Emil Valentino’s flexy workshop helped me get fully to the ground. I also do other vinyasa yoga classes 2x weekly but they didn’t open my hips up like Isaac and Emil.

Center split, I’m still the highest in the class. My friend said some bodies can never do some things and she’s convinced I have scar tissue that’s preventing me.

@tarah – Haha yes! I'm very lucky and blessed there's such a variety of practices in my area. I live in NJ and go to NYC once a week. Plus whenever I do travel, I make sure yoga is on my agenda. Vegas, Toronto, even Hershey Park. LOL!

I do A LOT of yoga… a lot. Many think I get my body definition from pole but honestly it's from yoga. I started in summer 2010 and it made me much more flexible plus enhanced my form, endurance, core and stamina. It stretches out your muscles that tend to tighten during pole.

In general, I do different types of vinyasa. My favorites are sankalpah, dharma, moksha and baron baptiste. Also have done brahma, yogafit, jivamukti, bikram, coba, hot yoga, ashtanga, iyengar, yin, barkan, hatha, open vinyasa, hot vinyasa. There are so many to choose from. I choose teachers for their style and have class cards to diff studios.

I prefer studios b/c I'm more hands-on, but I still have Veena's lessons and check it out once in a while. I also agree with Veena, it depends on your local studio. Apparently mine happens to be Body & Pole, thee best/biggest studio with some of the best instructors you can ever ask for. If I didn't have that option and based it on NJ studios, I would prefer Veena's lessons, hands down.

Ooh I like the new thumbnail pic layout. 😀 It didn't post the recent profile pic I just uploaded though.

And loving the discussion segments. Nice, Chris!

^ Yay! Hope it works for you too and no wiping happens!

For optimal use, apply 30-60 minutes prior to warming up. Then reapply before poling and as needed. Before the competition, same thing, especially the minute before you go on stage! Haha!
