Yeah the old Tite Grip I original, you had to reapply more often. But the new Tite Grip II lavender, you don’t have to reapply as much. Much stinger, lasts longer. The main trick is to apply 30-60 minutes before warming up. This is to have it activate in the pores and sweat glands, and act as a true antiperspirant grip aid.

Doesn’t sound like nerve damage, more like trigger points. Esp in those specific locations and symptoms. Trust me, Google it! Haha! Trigger points are a common muscle straining problem with polers and aerialists.

Tell your doctor its a trigger point and get a prescription for a muscle relaxer like robaxin or flexeril. They will probably also prescribed naproxen or take motrin. Use bengay patches in the mean time. It’s deep penetrating heat.

Oh and I’m a registered nurse also with scioliosis. I don’t see a chiropractor as my yoga practice helps align my posture. Good luck!

Try Tite Grip!!! It’s an antiperspirant grip aid that will help severely decrease the clamminess and slipping. Simply apply 30 min before warming up, for optimal effect. 🙂

And a trick for redness is Pepcid AC or tylenol.

Haha yes I agree, more pole appropriate. It's been around in NYC & LA. *shrug* Doubt there's many sneakerhead polers out there though. 🙂

And yup! That was me. Burned out and way too tired! LOL!

I agree 5-6' all around is prime. Unfortunately for me, it's 4-4.5' on 3 sides of wall. Can't fly but can practice a lot of other moves. I just noticed we all have the 4' problem. LOL!

We recently bought a house and I turned the sun room into a pole room! 😀 It's 8.25' x 15.5' with a bay window, hardwood floors, and wall cutout. Lots of space for floorwork and yoga. Also planning to mount the wall mirror and add crown molding to match the room and window sconces. So so so happy with it.

It took me 6 months of actively trying for splits to GET a full flat split! I would focus on flexibility by doing yoga 3x/week, with one of them focusing on deep postures and squared splits every week. It's all about conditioning your hamstrings and hips to open up. You work into it slowly over time. Not instantly or you'll injure yourself. Be KIND to your body.

The first time I felt the back of my front thigh hit the ground, I had the BIGGEST smile inside. It felt GOOD. No pain. Just so GOOD! And this was just this past fall 2011. Haha! I've been practicing yoga for 1.5 years and pole for 5 years. Splits never happened till recently. Good luck!

Out of that list, I've had:

Jenyne – Love her. She breaks down moves in her own language. Doesn't know much of names but the way she breaks it down, it's like magic. I got my TG lift, SM lift, and deepest pencil fang with her.

Oona – OMG my favorite. SHE IS NUTS! I LOVE HER! Very out of the box creative and will make you do things you never imagined. So innovative. I swear I had bruises for 2 weeks but WELL worth it! Haha!

Steven – Mostly choreo and combos. He does strength moves too but the way he explains it doesn't click as well as the others. He's still super awesome though.

Karol – She breaks down the common int/adv moves really, really well. Tells you what muscles to engage, what to use, etc. I've learned a lot from her as well.

I highly recommend Oona and Jenyne. The ones in that list who I haven't had and would def want to try is Pantera, Anastasia, and Natasha. And Jeni's Liquid Motion.

I'm gonna ask this week who's teaching Body & Pole's headstand/handstand workshop b/c that's where I practice them the most.

Try Tite Grip II Lavender. It'll help decrease the slipping. Much stronger than the old formula. http://www.titegrip.com

Or get pole gloves. I also agree with Lil Mynx powder coated poles. They work with anything.
