I just got my x pole today and had the same exact thing happen. My pole got really hot and crazy sticky! Almost every move I did made squeaky noises. No clue what to do about it though besides wash it with soap and water. I tried cleaning it using alcohol again but that just made it more grippy.

I bought mirrored sliding doors for closets used on craigslist for 40 bucks. I believe each door is 35×80? So I get coverage for my whole training space.I just sit them against the wall side by side and I pretty much have full length floor to ceiling coverage. It’s amazing!!!! I think this is by far the most bang for your buck. The plus side is, you may be able to find them free or within the $25-$50 price range.
The only down side to this is where the two mirrors meet. You do get a fun house effect where all or part of your body disappears but it really hasn’t hindered me at all. My workouts are so much better now that I can see.
Hope this helps. Good Luck in your search!

As far as people flying in, depending on where everyone ends up staying, I could definitely help car pool as well. Did everyone decide on a chat time to discuss details, I got kinda lost in the thread, it was getting too long to catch up. Either way I am totally there where ever it ends up happening.

Hardcore poles does in fact have spinning poles. Here’s the link http://hardcorepoles.com/Spinners.html.
Good luck on finding more info. about their poles. They seem pretty legit. I was looking at their pole-a-way option myself. But decided that I wanted a portable pole. From what I have seen on their site, their poles are removable but not portable. So, I am holding out for X-pole. If you are still unsure, I would call hardcore poles and request information about their poles and their return policies and so forth if you decide to get one and are unhappy with it.Good luck in your search!!

The insert idea for the gap in the toe strap is a great idea! I use heel liners for the backs of my everyday heels for slippage and they work wonders! The Kiwi brand makes them in a gel so they are super comfortable. The heel liner is also a great choice because of the shape and size, it can be easily hidden. Unless of course you bought clear plastic/lucite heels. Otherwise, I think this will work out great for you, even if you have to layer them to get the snug fit you need. You can get them anywhere, walmart is typically the first place I would go, the last time I bought them there, they were around $2-$4. I saw some at target the other day and they were charging nearly $9 for one pair. Forget that. Another good place to check would be the dollar store if you have one close by they don’t usually have the gel kind but they sometimes have the cushiony liners. Good luck!

I have the exact opposite problem, my feet are really wide. So most of the time the 11 fits width wise but then slides off the back of my foot. Shoebuy rocks, you really can’t beat free shipping both ways! Let me know how the your new shoes work out for you.

Thanks this your advice was tremendously helpful! Especially about the plastic stretching. I was definitely looking at either plastic or patent since I hear they tend to stick better. Most of the adult stores in my area are pretty awful to begin with and they usually only carry toys and dvds but I will definitely keep searching for a place to try some shoes on first.
Thanks again!

I would love to come! Count me in too!!!

MemberSeptember 17, 2009 at 10:57 pm in reply to: Suggestions on Installing a Pole in an Unfinished BasementSo as I am reading more posts, I am seeing that poling on hardwood is preferred to carpeted areas. Instead of a rug, would it be better to buy a piece of linoleum or maybe get the 12×12 peel and stick linoleum tiles? I guess in that case I would definitely need the non skid floorpad.
Any thoughts?
