Serious second on the packaging tape suggestion. Amazing difference for all of my grippy soles.
Happy taping! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

Yet another MagicEraser fan! I think all Pleaser shoes/boots should come with one. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

I am considering purchasing the Pleaser Delight 1036 calf boots from LingerieDiva.com. I normally shop shoebuy.com; however, in this instance, their price is $15 higher than competitor. Shoebuy has priced the "patent" as the same price as the leather at $114.45. With a 20% discount code and additional 10% coupon, I could buy these from Shoebuy.com for $82.08 (free shipping and free returns). Lingerie Diva priced the patent at $58.90 (plus $7.95 shipping= $66.85 total).

Yes, I rocked the black duct tape repair look, too. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif
So sad when poor design happens to adorable boots. -
I buy all of my shoes from shoebuy.com
Register on the site and receive 10% discount off first order; this discount is ADDED to any additional coupons/codes you are using. Not wickedly fast shipping to the east coast, but the prices, free shipping and free returns cannot be beat.
Happy Shopping!

Prior to pole dancing, I too was humbled by the daunting pull-up! Despite weight training, I was pull-up deficient. Not anymore! Every other day I do 30 pull-ups. Will the genius of pole fitness ever cease?
It is funny that you mention the Presidential Fitness Test. I read a story about another individual who could not rock pull-ups, until recently training with the Iron Gym. A little MVP named Peyton Manning.

Our shoes are much hotter, but we are all athletes, nonetheless.

Thank you so much! I tried the Gilette gel this morning with an unreasonably cold pole and loved the results. Tack without impeded motion. No longer will a frightfully chilly studio be my slick nemesis. And, I loved the jaunty scent…it went beautifully with my 6" stiletto boots.
I genuinely appreciate the heads up on this.

Building upper body strength and core/abs will make pole work much easier for you. Pilates is your friend, as are hand weights and pushups.
Good luck on your boards and know that your pole is out there, patiently waiting.

Allegra,
What type of shaving cream to you use (foam, gel, a polymer only known to Aussies)? Thanks!

I have a 50mm X-Pole. I wanted the 50mm as it is seemingly the standard size, thus you are more likely to cross paths with this size in classes and in the world. It is a pole of sheer bliss.

Absolute pole genius! I have 5 poles to put up for class and will be totally hailing you tomorrow morning. Golf clap and a major booty shake for you.

THE PACKAGING TAPE SUGGESTION IS GENIUS!!!!!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif
I was skeptical that this $1.99 solution would work. But, it is an amazing success. A couple of strips on the bottom of my Pleasers and my studio space was instantly transformed to dance nirvana. For reference, I am on berber carpet…and now, cloud 9!
Thank you so much for the tip.

You will never "hold up or ruin" a class. When I took my first class, I had ZERO dance experience and even fewer dancing skills. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_surprised.gif I decided I would bring the enthusiasm, athleticism and a warm body and the teacher would bring the ability to teach me to dance. That is EXACTLY what happened. Everything was taught in 8 counts. So rather than think of conquering the entirety of a choreographed dance, I just took it 8 simple beats at a time. It worked out beautifully! Before I knew it, the 8 counts seamlessly blended into each other. Six weeks later, I totally rocked our show.
So, the absolute zero-skills dancer, became a dancer. I was hooked. Fast forward to now and I am an instructor. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif Every time I start teaching a new session, I smile, tell my students that they need to have fun and everything else is up to me. If they cannot dance, that is MY problem. I am there to teach pole dancing…yes, pole work and dancing. I very work hard to break down every move into a easy progression of very basic steps. If you can sort of walk, I can totally teach you to dance.
EACH student has strengths and weaknesses. Some may walk through the door and be able to dance amazingly well. Sweet. But I promise, you will be bringing unique strengths that will make these same girls glance at you and think, "CRAP! Why cannot I do that as easily as her?!!?" Also, next trip to the grocery store, pick 10 women randomly. This is a good representation of the women that will be in your class. A mix of body types, ages, experiences and goals. Each one will drive to their first class riddled with some fear of "holding up or ruining the class", yet not one of them will.
You have an interest and that cannot be taught! Relax, cut yourself some slack, let the instructor do her thing, and you will be amazed at your results. GO FOR IT!!!!!!!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

Stop over-thinking this and just do it!
The best dance your boyfriend will ever see is the one you are going to do. He will be amazed at what you can do. He will adore your athleticism, grace and heat. He does not pour over forums and videos cataloging what you can and cannot do. Everything you do when you get up there is right. Pole dancing is an individual art so simply do your thing.
I would not show a video of you dancing. It is cold, impersonal, passive and seems a bit instructional. No! Bring the smoldering girl he loves, live and in-person. Nothing beats 3-D! Give yourself the luxury of interaction. Most strips clubs are based on fantasy…you will be an amazing dancer for him in that you are bringing fantasy and reality.
Feel the music, don’t be running obsessive 8-counts in your head and HAVE FUN! If you unplug the self-doubt segment of your brain, simply do what you know and enjoy the dance FOR YOU, your boyfriend will have an exceptional show.
So, put away the laptop, turn up your ipod, try on outfits until you find the one that puts a devious smile on your face and get your booty to The Main Stage!!!!!!!!

Thank you for all the insight! I had a lovely evening, found very few limitations on this pole and did not need my BCBS insurance card (though it did ride along in my boots, just in case). I spent most of the party inverted which was a pretty amusing way to pass an evening.
In all fairness though, I did give my X-pole a nice long hug and hearty climb when I got home. Okay, size may not matter https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_surprised.gif , but length does https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif .
I appreciate you guys making me feel much more comfortable about hitting the Platinum Stage. I was at ease before I arrived and that really made the night rock.
