MemberDecember 27, 2015 at 2:39 am in reply to: New To Pole! Excruciating Thigh Pain?So agree with Tropical Vertical. Coming from a ballet background, l squeeze every muscle l own to do any and all leg grips. Because ballet trains entire leg muscles. So l guess l am saying grab the pole with your legs and squeeze for dear life. And point your toes as much as you can, this actually helps engage all those leg muscles, which can extend right up to your glutes. You may cramp a bit, but you will understand the mechanics of leg grips better. It well get easier. I almost quit pole, l had so much pain from inverts. But half a year later, the pain is gone. Don’t give up pole vixen.

This is scary subject matter. If it isn’t correctly healed, you end up having to get surgery. So it’s best to get a evaluation if needed. This can take quite some time to heal. Please be very careful and consertive when you return back to pole work.

Watched your video for the first time and really enjoyed it. This negative person may have something really horrible going on in her life which she has no control over like an abusive husband or boyfriend, mental health issues, maybe no freedom to take pole class, or even put a pole in her living area. Or she could just be an idiot. I had a negative female stalk me in another state, just a bad obsession once. I would think more about your safety and well-being then letting her remarks upset you. Thank you again for this video and reminding how beautiful and relaxing pole is to watch. Now another supporter of yours.

So grateful to Cleo, this DVD covers a lot, and all the important areas for pole. My shoulders have loosened up with a very simple exercise out of this. A lot is floor based, so no excuse not to do it. Plus it does build back strength. For me, it reminds of some ballet stretches l have done in classes also. Even if l stopped in my lifetime, l would still do this dvd every other day.

And sometimes we stay on the path of least resistance, you can’t tell him the truth, and he continues to be disrespectful on some level, ignoring your nutritional requests. So if being happy is more important, then him go and continue on with what you learned from him. Toxic people sap you of joy and happiness, good luck on your new regime. It’s takes time but eventually things come together just not as fast as we wish. Lol

You have a tough choice to make, either way, it will be hard.Good luck to you.

I ended up scratching the pole with the giant wrench, but it did come down. Good luck. Giant wrench on pole, then l used mallot to hammer metal little rod around. Not sure if this will help you.

So happy to hear of your weight loss. I am close to you agewise and have dropped the bad foods and built up upper body strength as a result. Thank you for showing weight loss and pole exercise can be possible at any age. So proud of you.

My girlfriend just suffered the same thing. It’s called a groin pull, and it can take up too a month or more to heal. Best way to warm up those muscles are to sit down frog style with bottom of soles touching. Press gently on top of thighs for groin stretch. Did this religiously in ballet class and never had issues Good luck to you. It took several months for my friend to heal.

I think some moves were better done in the studio and am thankful for that. Also was motivated by seeing closely how moves are suppose to look. Yet l have learned some difficult moves at home with no one to spot me. The jade split and shoulder mount. So you need to know your strengths, and stop when tired. I have had way more injuries from studios then on my own. So it seems that either way has pros and cons.

Glad we are discussing this. Have had to get in shape, learn pole, resume gym workouts. Find that we have to listen to our body. Stopped ballet because l don’t think l can do pole and ballet. I didn’t think l could do weight training pole but l sorta do. Waiting out a ridiculously long divorce that learning pole has help me deal with. Thanks .
