Totally understand!  When I first started I thought "what the heck!"  At first it was death grip (sometimes still is!) then later learning new tricks with different points of contact.  Be prepared that as you learn and get used to something, the next thing may start over with discomfort and bruising.  I have been practicing thigh hold or cradle to superman and it freakin' hurts, most because I'm not as flexible as others and it takes more struggle to get leg through to turn hips into superman.

Anyway, as you see, you are not alone.  Welcome to sv and pole journey.  https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

I agree with everyone, keep at it.  Strength and getting used to the burn will come.  Keep in mind when you get used to and over the skin burn with one thing, it'll start again with the next thing lol  It's all part of pole.  It took me months to get invert and I was even taught wrong.  When I found sv I had to go back to basics.  Superman was the MOST painful when learning, I even had to stop working on it few times.  Then it became fun.  Be patient and enjoy the journey.  This is a great place for support and fun.

I honestly don't remember if skype can be recorded at same time.  I don't know what quality your cam is;  one time I tried recording a practice with my laptop webcam and it came out horrible qualilty.  So now when I skpe, I use my digital camera on a tripod to record and attempts/practices.  Do you have a digital camera you can use to record it?

skyember, be careful about selecting finish of pole based on what works for others.  Everyone is different and different finishes work for different polers.  I started with stainless steel lil mynx years ago.  While it served me well for first couple years, I had to move to different finish.  THEN became the decision struggle.  I ended up with a chrome and titan gold and switch between the two.  Not sure when/why I switch .  In fact I've had my titan gold up for sometime now.  I put it up in winter and haven't taken it down for summer.  I'm considering putting my chrome up again since it's just standing in the corner  https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_eek.gif.  I've also tried brass at different studios and was a no go for me.  Others bought brass and struggled, others love it.  That being said, I love my 45mm xpert titan gold.  It has it's good days/bad days depending on weather and ME https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif  Good luck.

Unfortunately, moves are referred to by different names.  Can you give specific or video of what you are talking about? A video by you or someone else doing it.

I've had xpole with adjustment cover on the bottom and have never had that happen.  And I do grip alot on the cover as my pole is not real tall so I end up there quite a bit or I'm cautious about being higher when doing certain tricks.  I wonder if others have had that happen and what their response would be.  I know we are not supposed to over tighten, but wonder if it needs to be tightened more.  Have you asked xpole?  Yes, that would freak me out too.

I am also glad I got the xpert (static/spin).  I don't use spin as main mode, but when I do attend a pole studio that has spin as part of class or workshop, it's good to be able to practice it at home.

It does go from spin to static with loosening of screws, I wish it was easier like the pin in platinum stage or the SV Lil Mynx pole.  I have to decide which mode I'm using and use little tool to go from one mode to the other during practices.

That being said, I love my xpole xpert 45mm titan gold.  I also have a chrome one and switch between hot/cold weather.
