MissPriss, WELCOME and I also hope you try the studio.  I went to an intro class about 4 years ago alone.  A friend was supposed to go but didn't show up.  I was disappointed, but glad I went.   I got "hooked" immediately then the studio closed down.  I tried various ones in neighboring towns and ended up finding one that was 2 1/2 drive one way.  I could only go once in a great while and missed having a studio close by.   One of the things that saved me was finding this site and veena's lessons.   A studio recently opened in my town and I am so excited.  That you have a studio so close is great, many don't have the opportunity.  Keep us posted 🙂

I may be on the small side, but I started at 52 so have to work a lot harder, but each accomplishment is worth it.

Got an itching to try Half Handspring.  Tried it before I watched veneea's lesson, watched it and now need to work at it correctly.  Also went back to basics for shoulder mount, was doing it but with more kicking into it than I would like and lost it anyway, so am backtracking.  Oh, and headstand, which seems to be getting better (thanks sexygirl for your pole jam help the other night!).  I hope to get over fear of working on handstand! 🙂  Great thread!

Yes, the pole has tendency to be loud with a calling LOL  My chromella, not so much, but my new 45mm TGelda sure calls out my name.  I hear P90X is tough, good job that you do it.

First of all, WELCOME!  Lucky you for starting "young", I wish I started at 45 or so 🙂  I started four years ago at 52 yrs old.  I've been at it more consistently in the last couple of years since I found studioveena.  I have always done some sort of fitness and was very active at the gym and weights when I found pole.  However, it was soooo different that it was as if I'd never gotten off the couch.

I've gained a lot of strength to accomplish a lot and stil have more work to do.  For me, flexibility is a big down fall.  There has been improvement but I don't stretch and work at it like I should.  I've accepted the fact that I may not accomplish as much as I'd like, but what I do makes me happy.

Make sure not to compare yourself to others, we've learned that everyone accomplishes different things at different pace.  You will find great support andd encouragement here.  Join us in Friday chat if you can.  Again, welcome 🙂

I agree with veena and others, a studio is great if it's a quality studio.  Also, studios focus on different styles of pole, so depends on what your need/focus is.  Because of my pole goals/focus, the studios closer to me don't meet my needs (as great as the studio may be) so I travel 2 1/2 hrs as often as I can to a studio that has variety and I can attend a class/workshop that meets my needs.  I also have veena's lessons which have helped me tremendously.

Veena is open to chat, video chat, and providing tips when asked and has bailed me out of being stuck with a move a time or two 🙂

I do miss a studio environment because I do better in a group setting.  This goes for pole, fitness programs, etc.  But it's not always an option.  You are young (compared to me LOL) and have accomplished more than I ever thought possible.  I take it slow and realize there is a lot I may not accomplish, which is fine.  Just enjoy the journey and have fun. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

Annieloo, most of us have gone through the turmoil of decision-making for our poles.  I surely did.  Everyone is so different.  I learned on a Lil Mynx and had it for two years.  I didn't know any different, was just starting and accomplished quite a bit.  When I decided to leave the stainless steel due to slippery frustration and learning about various pole options (too many as far as I'm concerned!), I struggled between chrome and titan gold.  I'm glad at the time I didn't have to decide between 50mm and 45mm, it wasn't a big deal at the time.

I never considered a 45mm and functioned just fine on my 50.  Then one time had a private session on a 45 and liked it.  Again, that's after two years on a 50mm.  Going to studios for workshops, etc. I end up back on 50 and practice okay.

Now the talk is 40mm.  My husband even asked me if I should wait to check out 40 before I get a 45mm, ugh.  Sweet of him, but not another decision LOL  It's like computers, just as we get one, another version, upgrade, etc. comes out.  It's hard, and I know I went back and forth.  Of course, there are safety issues to consider, however, enjoy what you get, have fun and only if what you get is a total disaster, should you re-consider the decision.

    Happy poling! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

I have a 50mm xpert titan gold I am considering selling.  It's about two years old and I take care of my poles.  I go back and forth about selling it, but if someone is really interested, I think I'm ready 🙂  I have a 45mm tita gold and 45mm chrome and don't think I'll go back and forth from 45 and 50.  I don't have space to put two up.

If anyone is interested, let me know.

Usually it's when people can schedule available day'time.  It's hard for me cuz most are 3 hrs or more difference time zone wise.  And my work hours are weird.  Private message me if you would like to see if our schedules mesh.

    You too, Aviva! 🙂

I did the same thing, ordered my xpole 45mm titan gold here, will put it up later today!  I received confirmation immediately and received within few days.  Must be a hiccup somewhere, cuz service here on sv and xpole is great.

THANK YOU, webmaster and veena for making this discount available.  You are awesome!
