It would be fun for us to reserve a spot for a Saturday class.

@jennasmom, glad you mentioned focus on tricks/transitions, if I take a drive for a class I like it to be on tricks.fitness, etc. Also hope to be able to meet you.
@tiny, I would love to meet up with you. I'll look at the studio again for class info and keep in touch. Maybe the weather will calm down soon!

I have been wanting to try the studio in Sacramento. I live a few hours away but would like to participate in a class. It would have to be a Saturday, hopefully soon when weather gets better. Hope to go and meet other polers and veneers!!

– did you order the bamboo mats? If you do, let me know how they work out. Thanks!

@salubivires, we've all been there with the first video 🙂 Everyone here is encouraging and supportive. I seem to be doing the same thing over and over, but it's progress. I'm working on my March Challenge, I wonder how many will know the song (even those my age, haha)
Hope to see your first video 🙂

Good for you deciding to do that nymphdancer. When we were looking into replacing carpet in two rooms (one being the pole room) I wanted to put pergo or something like that around the pole. For different reasons we didn't and I regret it. The new carpet was put in not too long ago so I'm too scared to have it cut out and put something in now. I also looked into doing the whole room in non-carpet but it was getting too difficult the more we looked into it and more expensive than we thought because the room has cement floor to begin with. I now have a 1" memory foam around the floor to protect the carpet from my "dirty" feet 🙂 and protect the new carpeting. Since I don't pole in heels, maybe I'll look into those puzzle mats.

I'm one who leans towards tricks. My goal for pole is a fitness program and it is the most difficult & rewarding fitness I've ever done, so I get more out of it practicing tricks, . I know the dance part involves stamina, strength, flexibility, etc. and is beautiful. Because I am so impressed with awesome tricks I spend time watching those kind of performances. I personally also am one who wishes I could have a natural flow and dance, my body and brain just can't connect 🙂 It's wonderful that there are many variations and styles to pole so we can find our nitch and have something for everyone.

@chemgoddess, did you get two pieces of the bathroom paneling and put side by side? If so, did you cut center to go around pole? Do they not slide around?
@ Empryean, I have a chair mat for my desk, but I got it without the nubs. We got new berber and I was concerned the nubs would snag. Do the nubs really keep it from sliding? It moves very little at my desk, but wondering about poling on it.
@eaglespirit, do you use those on carpet? I don't pole with shoes and just need something for pivoting on the carpet better.

okay, have to do this one, even if all I do is Adv Plank and Shoulder Mounts 🙂 You'll see what I'm talking about!

I do love poling, however, thinking like a mom, I like you proceeding with caution. That you even questioned the situation tells me you have strong concern and I think you should go with your gut feeling. Something that is starting out so quirky has me wondering what might be up ahead.
