I also went from Lil Mynx to an xpole xpert and don’t have any problems with joints, etc. However, is anyone still interested in a lil mynx? Mine is in the box not being used and am willing to help someone who would like it. The only reason I haven’t gone back to it is the extention is on the top of pole for higher ceiling and is not usable for tricks, holds, etc. The expert pole is usable from top to bottom and I like that.

Let me know and see if we can work something out.

So after turning the AC up so your room was a nice, cool 72, did your pole get more grippy? Please let me know – I’m looking at buying a pole, think the brass poles at the studio are super easy to grip, but am afraid of buying the chrome because I’ve heard of people saying how slick it is!! I’ve never been on anything other than the brass poles at the studio. Also, do you tend to notice the joints in the pole when you use it? I would be fearful of the joints and holes for the hex keys being abrasive…
I know this may sound strange, but do you think it would be possible for me to one day come over and try yours out? We talked about a BBQ earlier in the summer and I was sick that day. Please let me know! Thanks!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cat.gif

I also have not had problems or noticed the joints and hex key holes on my xpert. I was also concerned after using a one piece stainless steel for over 2 years. My ss was not usable top to bottom as the height adjuster was at the top and extended quite a bit for my ceiling and that part was not usable for poling. I love the xpert pole being usable from top to bottom. Again no problems noticing joints and hex holes at all.

I also hesitated due to comments and issues shared. I’ve had mine couple of months and haven’t had any problems. My hubby paid special attention to the tightening technique described by many. We have taken it down few times due to repair work in the room, company, etc. and put back up with no problem. I hope this helps.

Welcome and glad you have dropped in. I started about 3 years ago at 52. When I went to an intro class for fun I was immediately ‘hooked’. I constantly asked myself (and hubby) what the heck am I doing?!?!? I kept it up and love it. I work at my own level/strength and am doing things I never thought possible. I am not flexible and know I will never be as advanced as others, but I do what I do for me and exercise. We all pole at differenst styles also. I do it for fitness/strength training, even though I play in my own home with sensual/sexy moves, it’s so not me, and that’s okay.

You will find support, encouragement, and fun here at sv. Since I do not attend a studio, this is my pole place to hang out, learn and laugh. Join chat on Friday if you can!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_thumright.gif

    Thanks everyone!

hookedonpole – did I meet you this weekend? I spoke to quite a few people at the after party, but I was so tired after the competition that I don”t actually remember anything https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif Glad you enjoyed it!!!

I actually didn’t do a good job at meeting people as I hoped https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif After we left the after-party, I told my husband I didn’t meet so & so, and when I did meet someone I didn’t think to take pictures. I also didn’t realize there were more veneers there. I just didn’t know how to connect without running up to each person and asking "Are you a veneer", "who are you", etc.

It was such a fun and professional competition. My husband and I were in awe at the performances and talent.

Eaglespirit, I had same slippery problem with stainless steel, however, I used it for over two years. Right now I struggle because not only do I still slip, now my body gets beat up at the same time. With ss even though it was slippery, my body didn’t get so beat up. I had been getting decent practices with the TG, but now that the weather has changed to colder, it’s slippery. I just got out my little room heater that I used with ss, I will try that, it helped with ss. I used to turn it on before poling to warm up the room. I’m also tempted to get a dehumidifier.

Sometimes I think about putting ss back up and see what major difference is. Again, I like the fact that the xpert is usable from top to bottom, to where my ss has the aduster at the top and a big part of the pole is not usable.

I’m seriously thinking about chrome; if I slip/slide, maybe my body won’t get beat up. There is a studio few hours away that sells xpert and she said I could try chrome to see. What saves me from really having a hissy fit is I hear that many polers have problems on every kind of pole. And I do see a big difference now that the weather is colder and the room is too. I’m not that good, so I need all the help I can get.

I also still need to try Tite Grip way before, with Dry Hands. I used them separately and right when poling.

Honestly, I am confused regarding TG also. Even though my body gets more "beat up" and pole can feel harsh on my body, I still struggle with slippery grip. I have been able to do more practicing and accomplish more than on ss, but still have frustrating practices when a reverse grab spin can send me across the room or difficulty with other tricks practice. I sometimes thought I should have gotten chrome, but wonder how much slippery it would have been. You and I were the same with being undecisive as to what kind of pole to get, it was a hard decision for me. I still use Dry Hands for assistance, wipe it down, I also ordered a pair of Mighty Grip gloves with tack for help. I also realize the weather, which is getting cold here now, still affects the pole.

I hope it gets better for you. Keep trying it. I was scared I made a huge mistake, but I need to keep at it after spending the money, etc.

I had my list of those who I knew were going to be there. So sorry I missed you! You weren’t by any chance at the same vendor station with trixie were you? I don’t remember the vendor table she was with. Sorry I missed you. I thought I’d do better at catching up with veneers without feeling like a stalker, but didn’t https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif

Haven’t had problem in the "she" area, haha However, bruising is a part of poling for most, if not, all polers; especially when learning new spins/tricks. I’ve had some minor to what could be heavy bruising, skin burn, etc. At first, I was like OMG no one can see this! But due to weather, was not able to wear clothing to cover it. I learned to wear them proudly as eventually the result is an accomplishment. There was a time or two where my hubby and I both realized people would wonder and/or assume how I got them, but oh well https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif Once you start poling, and start having fun, you might even enjoy them. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

What a phenomenal event hosted by the incredible Poletential! The weekend was filled with exciting performances, workshops, an after-party with 2 poles AND the opportunity to meet some of my Veener peeps. Thanks for introducing yourselves!

I am so bummed I didn’t meet you. When judges were introduced I told my husband, I need to meet her afterwards. Then with all the hub-bub of the competition, getting to after party, etc. I forgot. I also told my husband, "she is gorgeous". Wasn’t it a wonderful event!
