The should mot be sticking out. When a friend I’d mine put her new one up I saw they were sticking out. The pole needs to be lined up to that slit type opening, then the screw can be tightened flush with the pole. If you can’t tighten flush, pole is not aligned properly. Hope this makes sense. Look up how to set up pole or I can post link here later.

Welcome! I am 60, started pole at 50. So glad you found this site and community on SV. It is the best. I have always done some sort of fitness workout, but pole is the one I’ve stayed with the longest. Even though I probably won’t do what the youngin’s are doing, the new fancy acrobatic stuff, I am VERY happy with what I have accomplished. I also could not hold my feet off of the floor in a pole hold even though I was involved in an intense weight class at the time. This site and Veena’s lessons have been a life saver and I’ve learned so much. Hope you will be sharing your pole journey here. I am thoroughly enjoying my season of life at 60 because of my wonderful husband and pole. 🙂

Oh, I am also glad that your instructor is wonderful, spunky positive energy, always tailors her teaching for her students, and makes sure we all are being challenged. It’s awesome to have an instructor to enjoy taking classes from!

I agree, if you are not ready, please say so. I have no problem saying “nope” or ‘that’s not on my list of to-do” Some could say, as well as myself, that it is a fear thing or lack of confidence, but whatever it is, I have no problem saying not for me right now. Your pole journey is yours so go at your pace. Sometimes I will do the baby steps or beginning prep for something, then say “no” or even say “no” right away.

There are many cool things that can be learned/practiced before Ayesha, Iron X, etc. Unless, as someone else mentioned, there are those who have natural strength, other workout background, etc who can pull these Adv/Elite moves off. But the basic person, like me, needs time, practice, progression, etc.

    Good luck!

If you would like an opportunity to perform in a non-competitive setting, this is a wonderful showcase! I am not a pole-dancer/performer, but participated in NCPP 2014 and 2015. It was really stepping out of my comfort zone and glad I have. Oh, along with other veneers, I am in this highlight video, around 2:01 🙂

It was also awesome having Veena as a feedback judge, but she won’t tell me which feedback form is hers! LOL

Is the Lil Mynx red pole a rotator? Is it 45 or 50mm?

  • I had a pair of Versa from AMB, they were the chocolate swirl and liked that. However, 0-12 did not allow for me who acctually wears 0 or 00. They looked like too big on me and not cute. A friend had some at the studio few months and I tried them on to practice, still not “small” enough for me. I gave the pair I had to a friend. I would love to try Dragonfly shorts, but having to return when they don’t fit is a pain, where ever I buy from online. The best fitting and ones I love are Pole Skivvie shorts, but no longer available. I’m wearing out the ones I have. KMK’s are awesome, but also run big for me. She was gracious and made me a custom pair of gold and I love them. Also bought the shimmery black ones and had them altered to fit me better. Might buy some more and have them altered, loved KMK’s.

  • I’ve checked out Dragonfly and definitely don’t want hot pants, they show butt cheeks, right? I also considered side tie but not sure about good fit at the thighs. I need them fitted and not loose. It’s hard for me without trying on. I hear they are nice shorts, though.

I have done it. When I click the Share to FB, the window opens to Share on Timeline. I click that and a little list opens which has Group. I click that and type the group name. Has worked for me.

Only few days left! I will be working on mine in next couple days. Working on ideas for costume, although I might take Veena’s suggestion of wearing a sheet since I’m not creative lol Due to fact the freestyle does not come easy for me, I’m working on putting combos, etc together. So much fun working on this with a pole sister. This Challenge routine might be a little out of character for me!!
