Ooh, when are the new gloves with the new closure on them coming out? I’d be interested in picking up a pair too.

Maybe we just got our gloves a size too small.

I tried some booty popping last night while I was messing around with some floorwork, and I can sort of do it while on the floor, but trying to do it while I was standing just made me really sad. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif I didn’t even attempt it on the pole–that probably would have resulted in downright depression.

That’s great that you actually got a reply back and not some generic-sounding form letter. I do see their problem with making longer gloves as well as the regular length ones–I like the idea of the wristlets, though. I was actually thinking of jury-rigging something similar. I was thinking of maybe winding some vet wrap around my wrist where the glove ends to extend it just a little farther, and then securing it to the glove with packing tape. Vet wrap fits closely to the skin, and I believe it should allow you to spin, plus if you secure it tightly enough nothing should bunch up. This is all just theory, though. It might end up being a bigger pain in the ass than it’s worth, but vet wrap and packing tape are cheap, so I was going to pick some up at the store tomorrow and see what I could come up with.

The hair scrunchies are a good idea. I was thinking of something along the same lines, but hair scrunchies didn’t occur to me. I have some of those rubber band types that fit really tightly, and I’ve got a whole pack of them–I bet they’d work really well.

Inverted booty popping lessons?! I can’t wait. I’ll have to try and track down those Youtube tutorials. I haven’t really done any booty popping before but I want to learn–I like doing some of the raunchier moves. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif

SEXY! I love ’em. I’m planning on taking some pics if my new thigh high boots ever get here, so I’ll post when I finally get my new shoes, but I’m having some problems with the company I ordered them through. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_mad.gif But that’s a whole ‘nother rant.

Or were you talking about doing it inverted? I do that in a split grip too from an Aysha. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif
Either way. Yeah, I’m trying to avoid the air humping, because I don’t want to look like some dog in heat that got ahold of some poor schumuck’s leg. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

I really need to pick up a microfiber cloth. I know a lot of places carry them in the automotive section, but I checked our Fred Meyer’s and they didn’t have any, so I’m thinking I might have to stop by an actual auto place.
I’m not sure why a microfiber cloth would work better either, but I always hear good things about using them. I am wondering if maybe it is putting very superficial scratches on the surface of the pole or something? The reason why the stainless steel Lil Mynx is so slick is because it’s a mirror finish, so maybe the microfiber cloth dings it up just enough to not really ruin the look of it but to give a better grip. But that’s just wild guesswork on my part, so who knows.

There have been much harder polers and much heavier girls doing much crazier stuff who’ve never split their gloves, so I guess I am just a glove ripping evil genius or something.
https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif I don’t know why, but for some reason this mental image is cracking me up. I’m picturing a Mr. Burns type thing going on, with the steepled finger and the tatters of some poor overworked glove hanging in shreds off his scrawny wrists. Maybe you’re just ridiculously unlucky with gloves and you always get the defective ones.
I miss spinning, honestly. I can do one here or there if I’m just fooling around, but if I’m doing an actual dance or workout, either the pole is too slippery for me to spin safely, or I work up such a sweat that I can’t hang on with my bare hands. If I use liquid chalk or gloves, I can’t spin. (Well, I can spin a little with gloves, but not like I can bare-handed.) I think I really just need to find a sexy way to work wiping down the pole and my hands into my routines.
As for the gloves themselves, like I said, the short bottoms and bunching up on spins are really my only complaints; they really do grip well.
-
Can you spin with them on? Maybe I’m just retarded. I think it was amcut that said she could spin fine with the no-tack gloves (which is what I have,) but my spins with the gloves on aren’t that great. I can do them, but they’re pretty weak and don’t have the momentum I like to get.

Cute. Little too long for my taste though, and I really wouldn’t pay $50 for them.
Like most of the other girls, I like boy-cut underwear as pole shorts. I have a pair of black Jockey boy shorts that are tagless and very comfortable that I wear. They’re perfect because they’re short enough to not get in the way of my thighs gripping the pole, but long enough that they cover everything. (Well, a teeny bit of cheek hangs out the end, but I can deal with that as long as I’m not flashing ladygarden everytime I spread my legs, and they give really good crotch coverage.) And no camel toe or muffin top or anything.
I hear a lot of good things about the Poleskivvies shorts, though. I’m thinking I’m going to try those next. They do look really nice and comfy.

Oooh, that’s a good idea. I didn’t realize they were pretty new–I thought they’d been around for a while. That’s my only complaint about them really, is the short bottom bunching up when I do spins. Otherwise I like them a lot.

Where are these pics you speak of? Are they posted on the boards somewhere?

Maybe my butt’s fleshier than I thought. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif I don’t remember have any tailbone pain even when I was first learning the CKR–the only thing that hurt was my thighs, until they got used to me holding on with just my legs.
Now I just do it without thinking about it, so next time I’m practicing, I’ll go into a CKR and really concentrate on what I’m doing to see if I can tell why I’m not having any issues with my tailbone. Maybe I just automatically squeeze my glutes without thinking about it. I also do a lot of lunges when I work out, so there might some muscle build up there from that which would help cushion the tail bone. If you don’t already do them, lunges are a great way to pack on butt muscle. Be careful with them if you have knee problems, though.
