Usually lean meat or eggs. I typically pole around dinner time so I try to eat enough to carry me through the workout successfully. I hate the taste of protein bars, so I could never get into it.

I adore my Mika shorts because of how comfortable they are! To me it’s like pajamas. They can be pricy but they’re worth it. I stocked up at the last pole event I went to where there was a sale lol. If your particular about the height of the shorts (low-waisted high-waisted etc.) there’s also artista activewear.

I try everything on both sides. However, I really work on climbing and more transition work on both sides so that I can trick on my better side.

I’m super slippery I use dry hands and firm grip. Never would use again. Gymnast chalk only worked with lower level skills. Tote grip made me feel greasy. Gloves were terrible for me; I have a stronger grip without them. I’ll be trying out dry body soon since my studio sells it n would b more than happy to let u know if I recommend it or not.

Yay, how exciting! I’m going to cheer on some of the people from my studio and of course to get inspired. I won’t be competing… Yet. I’ve never been to anything like this before since I’ve only been doing this since June. Always welcome to meet up if u don’t mind my husband lol; beats wandering.

Pole definitely helped me find myself and what makes ME happy. I’ve spent so much time worrying about pleasing others. Growing up I was always expected to be prim and proper and being a teacher I again have others telling me that I must dress like a grandmother (our dress code is ridiculous). I quite literally woke up one morning and decided fuck it it’s my time. I started poling and signed up for a membership, went and got my girls pierced because I wanted to, and am waiting for my hair to grow out again before I dye it auburn like I’ve wanted to. Pole has definitely made me a happier person and, more importantly, a confident person. I don’t feel like I need to justify myself anymore, I can simply be me and it’s take it or leave it. I found a wonderful group of sisters that I pole with and I’ve continually found out more about myself, like what makes me tick and how much inner strength I truly have.

I tend to get pain after a few attempts from split grip and only do it sparingly. It’s usually your body just signaling enough. The stronger I’ve gotten, the more often my body has been able to use split grip/wrist & grip intensive moves. I usually use a bracket grip after a couple tries to prevent over exertion and to build it slowly. I use a grip tool too to help build the strength (I don’t know what they’re actually called; they’re in the weight section of stores).

I have super sensitive skin. I feel like breathing can give me a rash sometimes lol. I use straight gym chalk and have no problem with it & its worked the best for me. Thankfully the other products I’ve tried (dry hands & tite grip) haven’t caused allergic reactions with me, they just didn’t work..

Hey all! Thank you everyone for the advice. I actually climbed today.. to the top! I was especially frustrated because I did my invert not my climb… So I figured out 2 things. 1. the performance climb/bracket/forearm made it 100x easier and 2. I figured out I wasn’t engaging my shoulders enough and actually trying to pull my arms up (fail). I nailed it once I focused on just the legs :D. Thanks yall for some fantastic advice!!

I go to a studio and have a membership so I take other classes they offer: flexibility, boot camp, twerk, yoga, & pilates. I go about 6x a week but only take pole/spin pole/routine classes 3x a week. Protein has been a saving grace after working out. I’m not a fan of shakes (I can’t get past the taste) so I eat cottage cheese or have an egg after.
