Let me chat with one of the studio owners here in Pittsburgh and see if she would be willing to host a pole jam in Pittsburgh somtime in July or August.

Wish I lived in Philly instead of Pittsburgh. Would get to go to so many workshops! You guys are lucky.

OK, so I tried this again tonight. I feel like I’m close. I just can’t seem to get my leg hooked. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_mad.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_mad.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_mad.gif My inside arm and boob is so bruised and has alot of broken blood vessels from trying this over and over. Wonder if I’m sticking to the pole too much.

Is there something special you need to do with your torso/hips to make it easier to get you leg hooked.

In watching some of the video it almost looks like instead of going into more of a side flag position you let you head drop directly down and let your legs hook from the back rather than from going from the side and around (not sure if that makes sense).

Is there any type of push/pull or anything you need to do at the last minute like when you attempt the shouldermount or twisted grip where you have to push your legs up at the last minute to get them over your head.

Appreciate all the tips on this.

so i tried it tonight and made sure my bottom arm was closer to my knees. I have a 45mm.

I’m so close I just have to get my leg hooked. I’m hooking with the opposite leg than i would normally when I go into a brass monkey.

Must practice more. I wanna get this one!

Is it too late to sign up for this pole jam. I’ll know early next week if I’ll be back in Burlington so I can come.

I hope you get to come to Spin On Fitness. I’m going on vacation on August 6th so hopefully I can make it to a workshop on August 5th instead.

I can do the flip no problem but I can’t split right now so I wanted to try landing on the pole itself in a sit for example but not sure the best way to approach that.

I have had both titanium and chrome. Much prefer the titanium. Much grippier than chrome although yesterday it was so hot that I had a hard time gripping with my hands cause they were too sweaty although the rest of my body stuck to the pole nicely.

Does anyone know how many people Elizabeth is going to allow to sign up for the pole jam? My folks live nearby and I’ve been to her studio before so I might just have to come back to visit but won’t know until next month if I could come.

Thanks. I actually registered for her online workshop last weekend. It will be my 2nd online workshop with Karol this year. Guess I should be glad I at least have that option since there is too much drama going on between the pole studios in this area.

Well I’m no longer going to Karol’s Pro Workshop in Pittsburgh. The studio owner contacted me this morning to say she refunded my money because the workshops are already full with her current students which I think is a lie myself. She heard I might begin teaching at another pole studio that is over an hour away (which isn’t the case currently) so I’m guessing that’s why she won’t let me come to the studio to go to Karol’s workshop.

Hey Roxy, glad you’re back on the pole! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif I’m sure alot of us on the forum will agree that poling makes us happy even when other family members don’t get it. You’re a great pole dancer and certainly inspring to me! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif You are certainly lucky to be able to do something you love.

My hubby has never been happy that I pole. Doesn’t like when I talk about it or spend hours surfing the internet looking for youtube videos, etc. I admit I’m addicted to poling but there could be alot worse things. He spends alot of time playing xbox so as long as we are not neglecting each other I think its fine.

I’ve taken some of her workshops late last year and she really didn’t teach any specific pole moves. The workshops were really more of using the pole for strength training and conditioning, etc. I had to do a private lesson in order to work on any pole tricks themselves.
