This will DEFINITELY fit into the TMI category, but I tend to stay away from all kinds of activity on Day 2-3 because my flow can be INSANE on those days. I only stay away because I don’t want to have to break away from my practice frequently to check to see if I’m leaking or whatever. Since its only 1 to 2 days for me that I take off, I use that time for other stuff like flexibility training or a nice long session with my foam roller to ease the tender muscles that can come with my cycle. HTH!

YAY for your first post! Welcome to the family. 🙂

I’m the same way…totally got in over my head with my chrome pole so I ordered the PC SV pole from Lil Mynx…arrives tomorrow. The thought of a Titanium SILVER pole is very interesting to me since I just can’t STAND that gold color. I know, I know…totally trivial, but what can I say? I’m shallow like that. LOL

Very interested to see what this thread uncovers.

I had to have the length of mt pole customized, so I’m sure you can appreciate my amazement when I not only got tracking info today, but that my pole will be delievered TOMORROW!! I just can’t comprehend that turnaround time.

@cij1916…HOW IN THE WORLD DID YOU NOT OPEN THE BOX????? lol I would feel totally taunted by the unopened box staring at me from the corner, giving me the side-eye.

    Hi JennRN35!

My 2.5y/o enjoys my pole as much, if not more, than I do. I do realize that her growing up with it in her life is different than it being introduced as a 7y/o.

Chosing whether or not to share your pole journey with those around you is as personal a choice as which pole is perfect for a particular poler, so what may work for me and my family, may not be as practical for you and yours. Happy Poling!

Looks like you’re back in first place my dear…by a LONG lead now! Almost up by 100 votes!! I added my vote, not because you asked, but because I felt it was the best of the letters. You truly deserve this win and you know you’re going to have to show us the pics, right?! 😉

Baby wearing is a great way for baby to feel securely “held” while also gives you use of your hands. Certainly this won’t jive for poling, but it may help ease those tired arms. I have used ring slings (great for hands-free breastfeeding), moby wraps, and a structured carrier similar in style to the Ergo. When selecting a carrier, I strongly urge you to avoid the “crotch-dangler” style of the (I don’t know why so) popular Baby Björn…these are both uncomfortable for baby and extremely damaging to baby’s hip growth.

At this age, being held is something babies expect to happen and, to a certain degree, need. In a month or two he will be able to support himself in a seated position which will open the door for a little self-guided entertainment and may even enjoy watching your pole time.

I know how frustrating it can be to feel a strong conflict between your motherly instincts and the habits we have formed as part of our 21st century lifestyle, but in two years when he’s too busy playing to be bothered with a snuggle, I doubt you’ll look back on this time and think “gee, I sure wish I had held him less.” This is time that you can’t ever get back and even though it feels like time is standing still right now, it goes by extremely quickly. Feel free to message me if you want to vent off the public discussion.

    Hugs

Darcit said “I’ve done this move on a PS stage pole before and felt it slightly lift off the ground.”

HOLY SHIT!! I can feel the vertigo kicking in just thinking about how that must have felt for you!!

@Webby…be thankful you CAN’T see my happy dance right now! 😉

Looking forward to some real grip with the powder coat finish. Will certainly add a review here once I’ve used it a bunch.

I have cold, slippery pole issues too and even after steaming, I’m still slip-sliding all over the place. I don’t have easy access to grip aids for my sweat-factory hands, so I tried a cleaning method using Bar Keepers Friend…a polisher for stainless steel, glass, and whole host of other things. It really cleaned my pole better than anything and made my sweaty hands actually grip BETTER.

Since BKF is made for metals, I figured it would be safe and it has been for me (though I did a test patch way at the bottom before proceeding with the entire pole.) I don’t have any idea how it would behave on anything other than chrome, so if you decide to give this a try, please test in an inconspicuous area first before doing your whole pole in case there’s some result you’re not happy with. My bestie used Bon Ami on her xpole chrome pole with results consistent with mine.

Once I get my grip aids, I will update on how the grip aids plus BKF-cleaned pole work together for sweaty hands.

    I. Love. This. I’m a very large woman, and seeing all of the strength and flexibility moves she executes is very inspiring to me! Her confidence and technique are incredibly sexy. LOVE!!

Where do the SV poles ship from? (sorry for hijacking your thread, but I didn’t think a new thread was appropriate for such a basic question)

I use PhotoGrid (free) for picture-only collages and I love it. Export quality is great and there’s a wide variety of layouts and aspect ratios for creating collages for both IG and other social media platforms.
