MemberApril 13, 2014 at 5:13 pm in reply to: Need help!Platinum stages vs xpole stages!!!I love my star stand alone. My pole is just under 8 feet and I have a two foot extension. I can’t use the extensions inside because my ceilings aren’t high enough. I don’t like the noise that came with the bottom of the x stage light and I can’t move them by myself. I will say I am having a bearing issue with my star stand alone, but they are supposed to be fixing it. They have a new light kit coming out, it has already been released in Australia, but I’ve yet to see it on the US website. It really just comes down to personal preferences when purchasing poles. Have you used both of them? I was fortunate enough to have access to both prior to buying.

My personal discovery with pole and pregnancy. I continued to invert and teach until around 30 weeks. At 30 weeks I stopped teaching and just worked out from home. I had the okay from my doctor, and would in no way recomend it without discussing it with your doctor. Obviously I had to give up a few things… Ie no Iron X or geminis. My body bounced back much faster than with my previous pregnancies. There are plenty of ground and upright exercises you can do to help maintain a workout regiment and pole strength without exhausting or hurting yourself.

Thank you everyone. At this point the boys will be staying up, especially with my dad here as a buffer.

Thank you for this! I poled and taught through my pregnancy until close to the end. But even though I kept up I had to stop using certain muscles during that time. I’m still struggling to fully build my strength back up.

Oh and if you are referring to a mobile home, like a single wide double wide etc. you can use any pole, just make sure to find your over head beams. But I now love my star stand alone, so I am all for free standing poles.

You might have to travel to Red Bluff or Oroville. Try searching alternative fitness types as more pole classes and aerial classes are now being offered in cross fit type places.

If it was your first workout in awhile soreness is normal, and will get better. But don’t push yourself, it’s always better to build up to a longer and stronger workout.

Yes! my kids are ten, three and under a year. They love it. My oldest enjoys inverting and this is a “twerk free zone” when any of them are awake. My three year old recently began inverting from a spin on a 45mm he thinks he’s an acro ninja and puts on funny shows nightly. The baby loves sitting on my lap for a spin. It is exercise and since we aren’t involved with many after school sports it’s a good work out and family time.

I tried the DVD’s (I was pregnant at the time), I felt I made more progress stretching on my own, and I don’t have almost an hour three days a week to lie on the ground stretching. The stretching themselves felt good, but for me wasn’t worth the money.

My apologies! I apparently have pole armour not sleeve.

I just started using a 45mm from using a 50 for three years. So I guess my girth issue is just that I want more 45 practice. The pull and bruising without a layer of clothing can be pretty uncomfortable. Have you tried guards that you wear? ie wrists, ankle/tops of feet/

I don’t have a picture of mine up, but I purchased it through the Platinum Stages website, but recently stumbled upon their own site.

I’m a rather conservative person, but my now husband knew I poled for fitness and had one in my house prior to us dating because of Facebook pictures and and post bragging. He obviously saw the difference in what I do and club dancing, but through conversations about why and what it does for my body he began to understand and the newness somewhat wore off. It could be a first date “do you work out?” type conversation.

I have a pole sleeve. I have only had it for a little over a month, but I love it. I’m still rebuilding my pole calluses and bruises after having a baby so I find I really need to wear yoga pants right now or it hurts. I am able to grip longer, both with hands and body. And my kids love that they can pole in long pants. My only complaint is that it’s hard to get on (I haven’t even attempted taking it off because I have two 45mm) and that it adds girth, a 45mm is turned into about a 50mm.

I think we all plateau for a bit with pole, but will progress again! Don’t be discouraged.
