I have been practicing this move and find that I have to extend and spin switch my leg fast to get the momentum to switch my armpit grip. And if I go slow, I don’t have enough momentum to turn my body to switch my armpit. But when I go fast, I feel like I going to fall on my head. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif Charley, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE,PLEASE,PLEASE,PLEASE https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_bounce.gif ,we are all waiting for your tutorial. THANKS

Hi, when doing the leg switch in the scorpio switch, do I extend the leg around into the thigh hold the same time as I change my armpit switch? Or do I switch the leg into the thigh hold then switch my armpit grip?It looks like Wendy is switching the leg the same time she is switching her armpit in her Wendy’s workshop vid. I tend to do the arm and leg switch together but don’t feel safe doing so https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_question.gif Thanks,Joni

Your right. Its called the inverted crucifix which is what she can do. But I she wants to do the fallen angel and thinks she gets into it from a basic invert if I’m not mistaken. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_question.gif

Thank you everyone for the kind words. Yes, I do have 2 goals for next month. I just received JK DEFY GRAVITY dvd and love the ball drop. I can do the fast spinning climb which is required for the ball drop. The ball drop starts of in a fast spinning climb 1/2 way up the pole then crouching into the fetal position and spinning while dropping down into the floor in the fetal position. Just love how it looks. Tried it yesterday and I only spun once around in the fetal position. And 2, her spinning swan in which she spin climbs fast up the pole and drop into the layback fallen angel crossed knee and spin it down to the floor.Really cool looking. This one may take me longer to learn as I do my fallen angel with straight leg, ankle cross. The spinning swan is only safe with the cross knee fallen angel. I will post on how it goes. I also have a 1 year goal hoping to accomplish for next year but working on it now. I would like to be able to do the splits or close to it. A lot of JK’s spin moves require the splits. I purchased STACY NEMOUR’s split and flexibility dvd and have been doing it almost daily. But I’m giving myself a year to accomplish this goal. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif Thanks,Joni

Oh please don’t get discourage. When I started, my husband bought me a pole and installed it in our bedroom.I couldn’t do a simple spin and kept bumping and hitting myself on the pole. He saw me practicing one day and laughed out loud. He said that I looked so ackward and not sexy at all. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_evil.gif I CRIED all day and was so hurt and discouraged that I took down my pole and gave it away to my neighbour. But I missed it so much that I practiced secretly everyday at her basement for a year till I got smooth, sexy and did advanced moves. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_redface.gif She finally got tired of me coming over that she gave me back my pole. I installed it back in my bedroom, put on a sexy lingere, sexy music and pole danced till he came home and entered the bedroom. I kept dancing, climbing the pole, inverting and doing advance moved all the while ignoring him. His mouth just about hit the floor. And now he just loves watching me dance and can’t get enough. So please don’t give up. I started at 41 with no muscles strength at all. If you practice and stay with it, I can guarantee you will be amazing. :\ https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_queen.gif

Thanks Veena and Violet, great vid and advice. I realize that I wasn’t hooking my top leg high enough and that I was upright with elbows bent trying to get into the move. Also, I hooking my bottom leg at the side of my knee cap at the boney area. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_surprised.gif I’m gonna try again. Thanks, Joni

Hi there, from the basic invert ( Body facing the pole) the arm straight out the side like an upside down Jesus/cross position, is commonly called the crucifix. To get your back to the pole, its a different move commonly called the Fallen Angel. You have to climb up the pole, grip the pole between the upper thigh ,almost sitting like and lower your head back while crossing your feet at the ankle and squeezing your thighs very tight and arms goes to the sides. Hope that helps. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif JONI

I tried the knee hold for the first time last week and couldn’t hook my higher leg on the pole . It just kept slipping. And my bottom knee was in excruciating pain. I also ended up with wicked bruises on the side of my knee cap. DERMABLEND worked great in hiding the bruises as I was wearing a short skirt to a club with my husband. He didn’t want people thinking that he had beaten me up. Anyways, there is a sweet spot? Where approximately is it? Where should I be gripping my knees? By far,the knee hold is the most painful move to date that I have tried. THANKS,Joni https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_surprised.gif
