MemberMay 9, 2011 at 9:16 pm in reply to: anyone else have recurring yeast infections? my lady business is a jerk!!!!Getting antibiotic prescriptions for BV and Yeast infection is only a temporary fix. The bacteria and fungus will come back stronger within 2-4 period cycles. I'm also a gyni and urology nurse so I'm trained at this. The natural stuff will work so much better in the long run. After a course of BV antibiotics, 80% of women will get a fungus infection from the antibiotic also wipeing out the good bacteria in our vag. These BV and Yeast infection is caused by an overgrowth of the bad bacteria. Every woman has some bad bacteria in their vag but good bacteria must be more abundant to keep things in good control. The natural stuff works the best and if you have recurrent infections, your must keep on top of it and maintain abundance of the good bacteria.
So these are the natural things you can do to get things under control for BV;
– Natural antibiotic tea tree oil tampon soaks. -In a small dish add 20 drops of tea tree oil with 60 mls of boiled water. Allow the water to reach room temperature the add the 20 drops of tea tree oil. Soak a tampon in this solution and insert into the vag. Leave in overnight . Do this for 5-7 nights.
And/or 1/2 cup of apple cider in a 1000 ml of warmed down boiled water. Buy a round or square basin from the dollar store that you can get your bum and sit in. Soark for 20-30 minutes. Good bacteria thrives in acidic environment.
After the 5-7 nights , you must now add good bacteria down there by purchasing plain yoguart . Make sure it is plain that contains live lactobacillius acidophlus. Buy some disposable cheap medical gloves from the dollar store and add it into the fingers of the gloves and freeze it. Each night for the 2nd week, cut off a finger of the gloves and insert the yoguart as high up as you can when you go to bed. It can get messy once the yoguart melts so try to do this when you laydown to sleep for the night. And where a pantyliner to prevent oozing everywhere. Towel in the bed to lie down on is also a good idea. It is also good when the yoguart melts on the labia. It will feel cold but some say it feel like a great relief.
To maintain good bacteria maintenance, It is good to do 2-3 nights of these once a month after your period.
The apple cider soaks and yoguart inserts also works well for yeast infections but you must first do the candida cleanse like Lizzy liz said. I

Sunday; 1hour pole spins, trick and transition. And either 1 hour rockclimbing or 1 hour indoor badminton.
Monday ; Restday with light stretches
Tuesday; 1 hour hot power yoga with 15 min splits stretching or 30 min eliptical and 30 minuites splits stretching in the morning. Then off I go for 1 hour and 15 minutes of aerial silk training in the afternoon. After dinner it is off for 2 hours of intermediate and advance pole tricks and dance.
Wednesday; Restday with some light stretches .
Thursday; 1 hour of hot power yoga and 15 min of splits stretching.
Friday; 1 hour of hot power yoga, 15 min of splits stretching. 30 min of eliptical

I had one of these (a DynaFlex, I believe) and I loved it, but I dropped it and something got all out of whack. It would clunk when I used it and wouldn't spin smoothly so I couldn't get it going at a good speed. Then the end of the string snapped off inside it so I just junked it. It was the basic model one that I got for $20 at a sporting goods store.
Moral of the story: don't drop yours. Lol https://www.studioveena.com../../img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif
Mine has a wrist string to prevent dropping it. I often feel Its going to fly off my hand when I'm spinning it superfast. So the wrist string is a must for me. My husband also got the string stuck in the rotor the first time he tried to start it but he managed to get it out without breaking my powerball. I'm planning to get the optional auto starter base for easy home use.

I just love my powerball. I bought the limited addition pro series with the intensity glowing sapphire white light. The faster you spin it, the more intense the white glow gets. It also has a speedometer that records your fastest spin speed which encourages me to spin it faster so more workout on my wrist forearm bicept and tricept. I just love it and my arms get so tired from spinning it. It helps build strength on your arms. I bought this for me but my husband is now addicted to it. We have to fight over who uses it. I also want to purchase the auto starter for my powerball as I keep losing the string to start it. Once I get really strong on this, I plan on purchaseing the all metal chrome powerball they have which is twice the heavy weight and 350 hz speed.

MemberDecember 30, 2010 at 9:34 pm in reply to: What is this move called and how do you do it?It’s called the fishflop shoulder roll. To prevent rolling on your head keep your right hand straight to your side, bend your left hand at the elbow on your left side and roll your head to the left side between the triangle space that your left elbow makes. Hope that helps.

I’m currently in rehab/PT for a bad bicep tendon injury. For 3 years I’ve done almost nothing but pole as my fitness routine. I’ve always done Pilates twice a week as well, but find that better for stretching than for any serious strength training.
My PT said something to me that was a total "lightbulb moment." He said:
You cannot use your sport to train for your sport.
Football players hit the gym to build strength. Ice skaters use ballet to build grace, flexibility, and tone.
If pole is your sport, you can’t just use pole to train for it.
So I am now seeing a strength and conditioning coach three times a week to work on overall fitness and build the strength and stamina I need to be able to perform at the level I want. I’m continuing Pilates. And I’m focusing more on core-building and strength exercises as my pole warmup.
My PT is very wise! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gifi’m not quite sure i understand this… this may be a dumb question but…
when you guys are warming up for pole classes, what do you do? don’t you do pushups and core strengthening?
When we warm up for pole class, we usually start by dance freestyle to 1 song. Then stretches against the pole followed by pole pullups. -
I do aerial silk 2x a week and eliptical for 30 mins followed by 45 mins of stretching for the splits 2-3 times a week. In the car,I always have a hand gripper exerciser on 1 hand. I just also purchased the powerball which has so much great benefits for gaining strenth for your wrist, forearm and triceps. I also do 1 1/2 hour of acrobatics 1x a week and pole for 2-3x a week.

I don’t know what they are talking about. I partied with you at the New York Pole competition and you are awesome https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_salut.gif as a pole dancer, teacher and as a person. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_queen.gif You are top notch and those other studio is obviously jealous https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif of you and your studio. They just want to get rid of the competition. MONEY IS THE ROOT OF ALL EVIL. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_twisted.gif
